Have just left the clinc with the meds for Watson. The WT says to cross the street, turn right and enter the gate to the church. ??? Cannot find the church. Played this game some time ago and can't remember where it is. Help, please!

Thanks, Chief.
The church isn't directly opposite, but just a little way to the right on the opposite side of the road. You won't need to turn a corner or go very far.
I'd suggest switching to first person mode here, it might make it easier to find the church. Additionally, there should be a man sitting on the ground outside the gate; that might make it easier to find.

I'm trying to examine the body of Polly, and have checked out her face, the small pool of blood, etc. When I back out and try to examine the rest of her body, Holmes remarks that we must read the preliminary report. Done that. I can only zoom in on her bonnet, but not the body itself, or the marks of her torso. Not sure what the problem is.

Thanks,MaG, but I'm still not getting anywhere. I've done the first 2 sets of deductions, but can't progress, because I can't get up close to her body, or the to the damage that was done. The bonnet is the only thing beside her face that I can access. I got the muddy ground comment, the lack of blood in the area, the couples down the street, etc., but for some reason cannot access the body. Not sure what to do now.

I went back to an earlier Save and redid the scene.I clicked on the other clues..damp ground, lack of blood spatter and did the bonnet and body before the head. That worked. Apparently I'd done it backwards!

Hello again. I"m stuck, playing Watson having exhausted all dialogue with Finley at the boarding house, Humphries at the station, the bartender, etc. When I try to return to Baker St., he says there is still more to be done. Can't think what it could be! I've pieced together the torn testimonies, talked to Richardson, done everything at the bar, but am apparently missing something.

I'm playing it, too, gillann. Had a heck of a time, at first, figuring out the deduction board. <g> Are you in the bar? You need to get in that back room.

Thanks,Traveler.I have spoken to the thug in the one room, but didn't get in. The police were looking for him, but Watson doesn't disclose where he is. There is literally no one left to talk to. I've exhausted all coversations with the doctor, cobbler, policeman, Bella, Finley, the bartender, etc. Am really stymmied...Watson insists there is more information to be had. Frustrating! Where to go, now?

I stumbled over it, gillan. Go to the bar and look at the very corner next to the wall on the side across from the door. There's a pan there. It has something in it the journalist wants.
Gil. This is a really good game, btw!

HI! I found the red ink and gave it to the journalist, so that's done. Still don't know what I've missed. One fun observation...many of the characters look exactly like some from SH-Nemesis! I'll still keep looking, but even using the WT, I'm not seeing what I missed.

Talk to the bartender again. <g>
Yeah, they do look like the characters from Nemesis. The philandering artist is a far cry from the new curator at the museum, isn't he? And Bella seems to have hopped from New Orleans in The Awakened to Whitechapel in this game. Quite a comedown, don't you think? <g>

gillann, try reading all your documents and reports. There might be one you've missed that's stopping you from moving on here. Particularly 'Old Police Report of Certain Arrest'.

I went back and rechecked the docs and reports, which I'd already read. What it was...wait for it! The pieces of paper that had been torn up and thrown away. I'd done it and thought it looked ok, but I re-did it, and Bingo! I had misplaced one of the pieces. Off we go...

I'm on my last nerve trying to work the magnet puzzle. Every time I try to pass the magnet with the hook over the other magnet, they zap back to their corners. Not sure what the trick is. Played it before and don't remember having such a hard time. Any hints?

They can pass directly across the top of one another -- not side by side. That gives you more room to work with.

If it weren't for MaG, I would never have gotten through some of these puzzles. It's not that they're so awfully hard, I just had a devil of a time understanding some of the directions, bright little critter that I am. I give her all sorts of credit for being able to make quick sense of them.

Glad you found it. Did you weld ALL the sections of the pipes that you assembled? Check that you didn't miss a pipe joint anywhere. Also double check your dial readings.

You have to adjust those little pressure gauges, gillann. I don't think you can blow yourself up...I didn't...so just fiddle. <g>

I've welded some of the pipes, but may have missed one. The problem is that I can't get the gauge back to it's proper setting. It goes from 0 to 25, and that's it. I went back to an earliet save, but still haven't had any luck. I think I've correctly done the gauge placements, but apparently not! Patience, patience...Thanks for all the help!

Check THIS older thread, see if it helps you. Do check your welding again, re-cover all joints to be sure.

I have looked high and low and cannot find the perfume puffer anywhere at Finley's. I have the atomizer/nozzle, but without the puffer it won't work for dear Danny. I checked the WT and it says it's on the ground by the barrels left of Finley. Nothing there..no hand cursor, etc. and it's not in inventory. Help!

gillann, just to be sure, go back around Finley and look at that barrel again. It took me awhile to realize I had to go past him, not behind the stairs, to find that atomizer.

Thank you all...I had to go waa-ay back to a Save, but did, and found the puffer. Now, I've just completed the experiments with the pigs heads. I used all of the knives, etc. and finished, but now, don't know what to do. Holmes hasn't said anything, and I can't place the 4th knife in the blank space. Not sure what's missing..

Hello, MaG. I've done and redone the pig puzzle several times. Doing something wrong..In each experiment, I used all 4 instruments, and heard Holmes comment..Do the green checks automatically appear, or do I check the correct knife? I've reset the puzzle between using each knife. Is that right? Nothing turns green automaticall, and Holmes doesn't utter "Elementary". What's missing?

The green checks won't automatically appear -- you need to click on the boxes for the knives that you believe are possibilities for the wound on the victim. Holmes won't say anything until you've chosen the correct combination of however many knives. You might need to uncheck/recheck a box to trigger him. Don't reset the puzzle -- just use a different area of pig head for each knife, there's plenty of room. Resetting might be what's causing the problem.

I'm stumped playing with the mannequins..Have collected all the items, and dressed them according to the WT, but neither Holmes, nor Watson comments. Too, there's no cursor by the light switch, so I can't turn it off. Not getting it..Must have missed something, but what?

Holmes will comment on each individual mannequin once you've dressed it correctly. If he hasn't commented, then an item is missing or incorrectly placed. Best to double check. You won't be able to turn off the lights until the mannequins are complete and correct and Holmes has asked that you do so.

Hi, Mag..What I did wrong is I did things out of order. The 1st mannequin should have the description by Abraham. The 2nd should be Long's description, and the last Smith's. I looked up the correct dialougue's and docs. but they're out of order. How do I correct that? Holmes did say the height should all be 5'3", so that's done.

Maybe you can go to the documents/dialogues that you check off in green and deselect them, then select them again in the right order, gillann.
In case that wasn't clear, I mean those little images that show up at the upper left after you select 'use this as evidence'. If you uncheck them you can start again, I think.
Gil.

I'm in the Imperial Club with the safe. I've opened the safe with help from the WT, but have no idea what to do with the files that have names, but no info. but for the dates. Re: the WT, it says to use the dictionary on the letter?/file and put said letter on the spine above. Once Holmes opens the file/letter there is nothing one can do. The close symbol is upper rt. corner.. You can't use the dictionary on the letter, nor can the letter be moved. What now? So close to the end...

If you've reached the part where you see the files with the names to the left and the dates to the right, just left click on the file that says "Joseph Levy". That'll open it straight up. After you've read it in Documents and back out, Holmes should confirm it. Or are you still on the first part of the puzzle, with the row of books? There's a YouTube clip HERE if you're still unsure. The part with the safe starts at 5 mins. in.
