Have a problem, hope you can help me.
Started this game last week & have played & saved a few times already with no hitches.
Today I started the game, it taking a long time it seemed to start up. First, the music never stops, tried sliding the music bar all the way to zero but nothing happens, the music plays on & on.
Second, each time the scene changes, the screen goes black showing only a shiny cd icon in bottom right corner of screen (meanwhile, the music plays on and on) which takes at least one to two long minutes. As you can surmise, this is very annoying & I cannot get to play much what with the long waits for the black screen to get to the next scene.
Can you please help me with this problem?
I would surely appreciate it.

Do you have any programs running in the background , such as firewall or antivirus , while you are playing the game ? Also , what video card &/or sound card do you have ? Something else , have you attempted to restart your computer & attempt to play again ? Perhaps an explanation is in order . I inquired about background programs , because of the possibility of one or more programs utilizing too much cpu power , thereby causing lag in the game . Asking about video & sound , I wondered if perhaps obsolete drivers were causing conflicts . Judging by what you stated , about playing the game last week with no issues , that may not be the case , but I thought to inquire anyway .

I have read instances where this game has experienced difficulties of it's own apparent volition , however , I wanted to ask some basic questions first . One last inquiry . Have you attempted to start a new game , on the chance that your saves may be corrupted ?

Thanks for the reply. No, I don't have anything running in the background.
My video card is NVIDIA GeForce 6200 & have plenty of disc space.
I have not tried to restart & play the game today, but will do shortly. I just ran a disc defragment on my computer hoping perhaps this will help?
Also, no, I have not attempted to start a new game as you asked.
Hope I have answered all your questions & hopefully, you will be able to come up with some answers for me!
Look forward to hearing from you.

Edit *********

Well, I started the game & it does run a bit faster but it keep crashing at the same place, I'll explain.
Looking at MaG's w/t, I am on the day July 5th. I am in Mike's office, ask him to open his computer & I type in Washington & am suppose to scroll down to the end of the text to see a painting of Washington. Each time I go thru each Washington page to the last one, my computer crashes. This happened yesterday also.
I looked in the manual which really confused me & found a tech support email (supportintl@dtp-ag.com) & finally found a forum on the game, registered & told them all of the above here in this email.
Can you help me as to why the game crashes at this particular stage of the game?

According to the system requirements I've found listed with a Google search, you need a Geforce 8600 GS or ATI Radeon X1300 or better with 256 MB of video memory. Your computer's Geforce 6200 doesn't meet these requirements. The point at which you're crashing may be one of the places in the game where you really do need a better video card to do what the game is asking of it.

You have to buy one. You also have to make sure your computer's power supply is up to supporting the new card.

If your computer is a name brand, what is the model number? Maybe we can figure out the wattage of the power supply by looking up the model. Otherwise you can take the side off the case and check how many watts the power supply has.

Thanks Jenny, I have someone coming over next week to check on my "slow-running" computer. I'll ask him about a video card.
Have a great weekend my ole Jersey friend!
