Digital Edition for the first time available for modern PCs

Quote:
Paris, France – February 2nd, 2012 – DotEmu.com, the retro-gaming digital distribution service, is thrilled to announce its recent collaboration with Trilobyte Games to re-launch "The 7th Guest™" and its sequel "The 11th Hour™" for PC Windows.

Awarded several times “best CD game of the year”, The 7th Guest™ dips you into a terrifying adventure that takes place in the haunted mansion of the famous Henry Stauf! Its sequel, The 11th Hour™, extends the experience and gives you even more puzzles and challenges. A frightening scenario, an immersive environment, mind-bending puzzles, The 7th Guest™ and The 11th Hour™ are highly regarded as adventure horror classic games.

""We are delighted to be working with DotEmu on bringing our historic, retro gaming titles back to the PC market," said Rob Landeros, Trilobyte Games co-founder, CEO & Creative Director. "Our fans have been waiting for The 11th Hour to return, and for those with PCs, the wait is now over."

"Back in 90's, The 7th Guest and The 11th hour have been hugely acclaimed leading to the acceleration of CD-ROM sales. We are very pleased to re-launch such awesome classics that made up the video game history" said Xavier Liard, DotEmu co-founder & President.

Following many years of unavailability, both titles are finally back for the first time in a new version, fully compatible with modern PCs (XP, Vista & Seven) including tons of bonuses such as the original soundtrack, walkthroughs and making-of !

The 7th Guest™ and The 11th Hour™ are now available for purchase on DotEmu.com for $9.99 / 7.99€ each as digital download, DRM free.

I saw on their site that Seventh Guest is compatable with Windows 7 also, so I might be interested in playing it since I only played the Eleventh Guest. I don't know why I didn't play the first one though.

To be fair, GOG has the same games launching as well. Regardless, those are great titles, and I am very glad that both DotEmu and GOG are helping to revive these classic games.

Did anyone here play the 11'th hour? How is it compared to the 7'th guest?

Gog does not have them up yet and it will be the same price as DotEmu.

11th Hour tried to be more of a serious horror game while 7th Guest didn't take itself so seriously.

I couldn't get the 11th Hour to play in either my Win 98 or XP or 98 Virtual PC.

My old game on disc (not this new download).

DotEMU also has Safecracker (2006 version from Kheops), which GOG doesn't have at this time.
