Super Saturday ya'll

It's a warm day in Al (60+) but not a pretty one...no blue skies and no sun. Hubby and I were going to take a hike, but now we have to weigh rain chances. I love hiking, but not in the rain.

Son is off to work so hubby and I have a day to ourselves.

I'll be cooking today as I won't have time today.

OK Joe, how did you get the typing upside down? I'm in awe!

Wonder of wonders. After seeing a neat little rug cleaner thingy at the thrift store (was not in good shape) so didn't buy. Yesterday I drove all over town looking for a Bissell Spot Lifter hand vac that cleans pet stains off rugs, etc.

Everywhere I went, Target, Wally World, Sears, K-Mart had NONE. Some said they were discontinued or whatever. So today after totally giving up, I went back to my fav thrift store and there was a Dirt Devil Spotlifter. Hummmm. Seven bucks to try it. Looked in almost new shape except for some dirty sludge in the intake.

Got home, ran water through all the parts (after finding the manual online. And revved it up and attacked the spot where my infamous Little One the indoorsie likes to upchuck once a week. I had cleaned and cleaned the area and all that was left was Baking soda, caked into the carpet pile. Wouldn't vacuum out so I gave the 'new' thingy a try. In less than 3 minutes I had a CLEAN nice carpet. Wow.

Suction isn't all that great (not like a real vacuum) but it does suck up most of the water if you are vigilant. I'm happy. Seven bucks instead of ordering one online for 49.99 to 60 bucks. What a deal!

Awwwww Back from a great walk in the woods. We went 3.8 miles at a decent enough pace that my face was quite red at the end. We did get a bit of rain as we got home, but nary a drop as we walked. It was lovely. Now time to go cook for tomorrow.
