If I were two-faced, would I be wearing this one?
- Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A priest and a taxi driver both died and went to heaven. St. Peter was at the Pearly gates waiting for them.
'Come with me', said St. Peter to the taxi driver.
The taxi driver did as he was told and followed St. Peter to a mansion. It had anything you could imagine from a bowling alley to an Olympic size pool.
'Wow, thank you', said the taxi driver.
Next, St. Peter led the priest to a rugged old shack with a bunk bed and a little old television set.
'Wait, I think you are a little mixed up', said the priest. 'Shouldn't I be the one who gets the mansion? After all I was a priest, went to church every day, and preached God's word.'
'Yes, that's true. But during your sermons people slept. When the taxi driver drove, everyone prayed!'
A new monk arrives at the monastery. He is assigned to help the other monks in copying the old texts by hand.
He notices, however, that they are copying copies, not the original books. So, the new monk goes to the head monk to ask him about this. He points out that if there were an error in the first copy, that error would be continued in all of the other copies.
The head monk says "We have been copying from the copies for centuries, but you make a good point, my son." So, he goes down into the cellar with one of the copies to check it against the original.
Hours later, nobody has seen him. So, one of the monks goes downstairs to look for him. He hears a sobbing coming from the back of the cellar, and finds the old monk leaning over one of the original books crying. He asks what's wrong.
The old monk sobs, "The word is celebrate."
Two old friends met one day after many years. One attended college, and now was very successful. The other had not attended college and never had much ambition.
The successful one said, "How has everything been going with you?"
"Well, one day I opened the Bible at random, and dropped my finger on a word and it was oil. So, I invested in oil, and boy, did the oil wells gush. Then another day I dropped my finger on another word and it was gold. So, I invested in gold and those mines really produced. Now, I'm as rich as Rockefeller."
The successful friend was so impressed that he rushed to his hotel, grabbed a Gideon Bible, flipped it open, and dropped his finger on a page. He opened his eyes and his finger rested on the words, "Chapter Eleven."
Good morning Joe! THanks for the chuckles. yay I hope today is your day to find a black arrowhead. They must ne hard to see in the dirt.
Have a happy day!
Today will be my morning workout, a run at the park and wrapping up my project. I ran the dogs yesterday for 4 miles and Shadow rolled in dead fish and then apparently ate them. Needless to say he was sick when we got home and I gave him a bath. I will keep a closer eye on him today.
I hope everyone has a great day!
Good morning. Thanks Joe for your openers and your comments. And yes, I know you're kidding. I still want the PATS to win though. I won't have to wait much longer to find out. Morning Ana, kissy, Haroula, Sue, Venus, Jenny, Gerry, and all who come in after me. Boy it's freezing out there this morning. But still no snow. I'm not complaining. I have an early work shift this morning so I'll just say I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday. See you this afternoon.
Good Morning Boomers
Joe, wishing you a nice day so you can get back down to the creek after work.
Ana, poor Shadow dead fish had to be toxic. Hope he passed it all. Maybe having to have a bath taught him not to do that again.
Morning Haroula, Cailyn, Venus, Gerry and Jenny. Good day to you all!
Midge, Wishing you a good workday . Enjoy the game after. Go Pats!
Church this morning. Easy day today. Game watching tonight. Not crazy about football but really hope the Patriots win!
Good morning! I took a kickboxing class this morning and I feel like I was the one that got kicked. lol Finishing my WT now and then either back to the club or running the dogs later. I haven't decided which I feel like doing yet. The hot tub is calling me. grin
Sue, I had to look up a fisher cat. Very cool! Not the fact they eat small dogs though! eek Hope you take them far away.
Gail, Shadow is doing fine. have a great day!
Jenny, how much snow did you get?
Connie, hope hubby's treatment goes well tomorrow. hearts
Space, have a great day!
Midgie, have fun watching the game!
Gerry, enjoy the game!
Venus, good luck getting more hours. Have you considered being a server at a restaurant? Ours make 75-100 dollars a shift here and even better on a weekend.
Haroula, do they watch the super bowl where you are too? Have a great day!
The dogs won today as usual and I took them to the closer dog park with no lake since they were so clean. It was a struggle to walk my 4 miles because it's only one mile around, unlike the other park where you can walk all over. It is boring and uninspiring to walk the same route 4 times in a row.
Darlene, BBQ sounds good. We made chili since everyone is in and out.
Nan, I'm rooting for the Giants too. Have a great visit!
soot, so nice to see you here! We missed you.
Andrea, enjoy the puppy bowl.
Jenny, I hope the streets are well enough for you travel tomorrow.
Midgie, have fun watching the game!
Haroula, I was just wondering the big game is watched there. I thought it may be watched all over since we watch your soccer match finals.
It's almost time!!! I have to root for the Pats as I was born in Boston, lol. Wow, dead fish aroma is not nice. Hope he is recovered, Ana. Hubby in manic project mode fixing damaged ceiling from that last great storm. Wouldn't have been so bad if he had been here. Almost done with the worse part so we can watch the game. Trying that Cheesy Jalapeno Pull Bread that Drac suggested. Enjoy the game to all who are watching and Have a great Day to the Rest of you! wave
It was a great day in Ontario today. Sun shining and still no snow. Very unusual that we have had hardly any snow this winter.
Hi Joe, Andrea and Ana ... it's good to see you too! Life has gotten the better part of me these past months and kept me busy
Yea Midge .. we lost but it twas a good game ... went down to the wire and last pass ... if only the last pass had bounced off of Kenny Phillips back (SS #21) in the end zone then Gronkowski would have snagged it and we would have won ... grin yes
Tomorrow is another day!
