I played Dead Mountaineers on Steam. Yesterday I had a pop-up on my screen that said "Running Steam in compatibility mode in Windows is not recommended" and it went on to say that I should disable everyone's compatibility status before playing. I finished the game but have never had this message before and am wondering wht it means and how I disable "compatibility"mode.

Thanks.

I don't know why Steam stated that but to disable compatibility mode in Win7:
Right click the game shortcut.
Select properties from drop down menu.
Select compatibility mode tab.
Check the Compatibility mode and do what is needed (untick if necessary).

Thanks MaG. Will it harm my computer to run it in compatibility mode? I'm not playing a Steam game now. Should I change it only if I want to play one of their games? It is odd to me that this message ppoped up weeks after I finished playing their game.

Thanks. When I get messages like that I get nervous that something will happen to my computer.
