Hi everyone, has anyone been to Costa Rica ? I am a UK person and would like to know if it is best to take US $ or Costa Rica own money and also what is best to pack to wear as 2 days here there & everywhere this June. Having a bit of an adventues, zip lining 1/2mile down a mountain ( petrified of heights ) and walking up Arenal volcano etc etc. All advice welcome, thank you

I have not been, but everyone I know goes back because they fall in love with it.

I am going ziplining next month with Peter, I can't wait.

You have a great vacation planned!

Jenny, we were in Costa Rica last December for 8 days. We just took American dollars and had no problems with that. As far as what to wear, check out the weather forcast for the area you are going to. It will be warm but the rain forest could be cool and you might get caught in rain. Do take insect repellent in case you need it. Take comfortable walking shoes. You will find the people very friendly

Are you taking a tour?

We enjoyed our trip very much. We stayed in a resort in Guanacaste.

Any more questions? I will try and answer them.

Bets

Ooh, thanks everyone. I am with a singles holiday company, 2 days here there & everywhere. Very glad of the currency advice, Bets as I was not sure what to take. Will get some insect repellant. Midgie, I will pop you in my backpack.
Do let us all know about ziplining Ana
Thanks again, Bets, dare I ask about shoppity shopping ? Are leather goods at a decent price ? What shall I look out for ? Already promised to bring coffee back for my coffee drinking pals

Hi JennyP. I haven't gone yet, will be there in June. It depends which region you will be in as the nights tend to be a little cool higher up. San Jose has a mall and a WalMart. I'm not too sure about leather goods but hear they are very resonable in Ecuador. There are many sites with good information for all areas. I think I would be careful about the water, if you have a sensitive stomach. Check out Wunderground.com for the weather.
If I hear someone from across the pond I'll be asking if it's you! Have fun and take care,
Terri
