Thank you Smooshmonster!
My save is quite good but I may play this game again with different options.

I might do that too at some point, so see what happens if I don't destroy the collector base.
I've read that multiplayer really improves the war effort, but I have never liked playing with strangers on the Internet. However, if any gameboomers would like to attempt some multiplayer missions and would like a partner, let me know. I'm playing via origin.

I've read on the BSN ME3 forums that you can get the ending (also the supposed good or best ending) without playing multiplayer. It just means you have to do a lot more sidequests, or nearly all of them.
Bear in mind, though, that this is not an MMO; people can play with up to three other people in multi-player. Also, people on the BSN say that the multiplayer is just combat, fighting wave after wave of enemies, known as grinding.

I really don't care about any of the endings! Not even the "best" ending, because whatever choices I make through out the whole game doesn't matter in the end... I can't go back and try out new choices to get a "different" ending... why would I?

Are you aware that the endings might not be all there is to it? That maybe it'll turn on to be some sort of virtual reality? Proving that the creators of Mass Effect have seen way the movie I, Robot way too much as well as the movie, A.I, directed by Steven Spielberg. Also they seem to have watched Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines way too much.
On Youtube there's an ending video asking questions about the ending - and if you listen closely to the music it is as if the music transport you to another realm.

Yeah, I was just thinking, that maybe Sheppard is dreaming it all - you know from being in a coma from ME2...
Maybe the war is already over and done with and she's been left alone in a survival pod drifting about out there...

By sidequests do you mean including those fetch-quests where I have to go scan planets and retrieve random things for random people who can't get them themselves for random reasons?

Smooshmonster, I have never played online, however I, as you, would be prepared to play with Boomers friends. The only problem is time of the day, I am 4 hours (from the 25th 5) earlier than you. I could play after 10:00 a.m. here, and may need some short breaks. Playing via Origin too, PC.
The partner would have to bear with me because my ignorance about playing online.

Yes, by sidequest I mean all sidequests including the fetchquest and the planet-scanning. However, I've recenty read that is it nearly impossible to get over 5000 EMS points just by playing the single player campaign in ME3. And that decisions you've made in ME1 and ME2 also factors in when getting your ems points...
Personally, I don't see the reason for adding neither ems nor galctic readiness points to the game...

I wouldn't mind that at all, mcc. It's better than playing with people who know everything and hog all the monsters for themselves :P
And cheers Karsten and BrownEyedTigre. To be honest, I find the planet scanning way too boring to bother with it. I didn't do those quests, but I imported a 'perfect' save and made all the right decisions, and still didn't get a full EMS bar. But being a completionist, I played enough multiplayer to max it out before the ending.
I'll avoid spoilers until everyone has finished it, but I'd like to discuss what everyone thinks about the ending.

I am having some "weird problems" - big money disappearing, for example. Also I purchased the DLC and even when the menu says I have it I cannot access it from the game. I sent an email about the DLC to support but up to now no response Anyone had this problem or something similar? Scanning the planets is a pain particularly with the fuel running out before finishing one area. We can arrange a time to play online then.

Have you registered your game? I think you'll need to go through Origin? and play the game? for a bit? And have you made sure your Origin account email and your BSN account email are the same? If they're not, you can get EA to merge for you. Bioware has made it very CLEAR to the support people at EA that they have the authority to do this. Should be working now...
From what I've seen at the BSN forums, the DLC could only become active after a certain point in the game?
If you're having problems with the game or experiencing bugs that makes the games unplayable etc. it is far better to go to BSN ME3 tech forums. The tech people at Bioware are reading the responses there - to catch up on bugs etc. Also, some people may have experienced the same thing as mcc do, so they'll be able to help out.
As for the DLC not working, in DA2, I had to logout of Origin, then login again, and then the DLC was there. Also, mcc, sorry to ask you did this? But you did remember to install the dlc?

Right, I had to register my game at: http://social.bioware.com/ before I could download and install my goodies.

I did register the game. It is supposed to appear after the first visit to Citadel. The DLC appears in the Main Menu as purchased, I am assuming it installed properly. With the DLCs of ME 2 once they were in the Main Menu there were not problems. Now I log out from Origin and login again, it seems to be downloading the DLC again after saying - content corrupt. Maybe I am lucky after that. Yes, I have it now The big money is still missing, it seems this happens to others too.
