JP3 is available on GOG this morning; it's billed as an FMV fpp puzzle adventure and has one review at the moment of 'very good'. Considering it's only $5.99, I may just spring for it but I thought I'd ask here if anyone remembers playing it and what you thought of the game.
Gil.

I don't believe I played this one, but hopefully someone who has will be along shortly to comment. Have fun! Ana

Legacy of Time is one of my favorites but I would recommend the playing of the Enhanced DVD.ROM released for both Windows and now Mac. I don't know which one the GOG version is, CD or DVD release but the enhanced graphics of the DVD version is a lot better. The Journeyman Projects web site has been maintained all this time. Take a look at the requirements and the pictures of the difference in the graphics HERE and (scroll down) HERE. Wouldn't it be nice if we could see the developers jump on the Kickstarter band wagon and get back to working on Journeyman Project 4 that they started so many years ago. HERE The Journeyman Project 4 Originally projected 2000 - Windows95/98/Me & PowerMacintosh The groundwork is laid for the return of Gage Blackwood and his artificial companion Arthur when a mysterious adversary emerges from their past to once again threaten the future.

Hi traveler This is one of my all time favourite games and I'm positive you would enjoy it !! And I agree with GreyFuss about the Enhanced DVD version. It's definitely "special". [I have both the original and DVD versions.] Cheers. Mad

GreyFuss, GOG usually does get the best version of a game to update and from what they say about the graphics, I think this is the DVD version. The images on the preview are very clear. Anyway, I'm downloading it now. Done! Off to meet Arthur! Thank you, too, Mad. I've been getting really frustrated waiting for a 'new' adventure game to play and you guys have given me high hopes of this one. Gil.

GreyFuss, GOG usually does get the best version of a game to update and from what they say about the graphics, I think this is the DVD version. Not always, They could not get the Enhanced DVD version of Tex Murphy Overseer to work and instead offer the Cd version. Like Legacy of time the DVD version of Overseer has way better graphics. But to be fair to GOG, it was hard to get the Overseer DVD to run when it was released but the graphics are so much better that I wouldn't even play the Cd release. @ Mr Bill Hey Greyfuss,
The 4 CD version would give at most 2600 MB (650 MB/CD), right? GOGs download is 3.2 GB. Wouldn't it be likely their download is the DVD release? Just Guessing at this.
Bill The DVD disk I have for Legacy of Time has 4.03 GB's on it. So just using size as the criteria then GOG may not be the DVD. I would have thought if it indeed was the DVD version GOG had that they would advertise it as such. I don't have the Cd version to check them but I would assume that when they made the DVD they may have used some type of compression but that is just my guess Also the Cd release was a hybrid with both Mac and Windows games on it which had to take up more space. The original DVD release was for Windows only.

I've played a little of it, GreyFuss, (in the Andes now) and it looks good to me.
The controls are a little peculiar, not hard but somewhat different since you get a 360 degree pan but you can't move just anywhere and clicking up or down I keep bashing the top and bottom panels. (I'm a known klutz. <g>) In general, though, it's quite easy to navigate and tell where you're supposed to be going and what you're supposed to be doing.
The story has already got me interested. I think I'm going to enjoy this one.
GreyFuss, here's what GOG says about it.
"Journeyman Project 3: Legacy of Time was one of the first games ever to be released on a DVD, which accounts for huge amounts of stunning 3D graphics, animations, live-action cutscenes, and absolutely epic plot."
Makes me pretty sure this is the DVD version. Anyway, as I said, it looks good to me for a game that came out in 1998.
Gil.

Well that doesn't confirm to me that what they used was the DVD version, only a statement that it was one of the first. I hope it is but I can't get any confirmation for sure that it is. Even in the GOG Forums there is only speculation like we have here. If anyone can confirm this then please let us know as I will surely buy it as it will look good on my GOG shelf but if it is only the Cd release then I will pass. Enjoy your new adventure Traveler

First - the game:
It is one of the all-time greats! It is long, thought-provoking, well-designed, and totally entertaining. The developers invested a vast amount of time, thought and money in creating JP3. I have played it, re-played it, and would play it again.
Second - GOG:
I have bought four games from GOG so far, and must say I am totally disappointed. ALL FOUR have failed in one way or another. Either they would not work at all, or would work then crash at some point, or most frustrating, worked, only to have my saved games vanish halfway through. Any pleas for help from them have gone ignored.
No more GOG for me, sorry. I'm not wasting another dime on them.

It is one of the all-time greats! It's great to get such good feedback on JP3 from everybody. Second - GOG:
I have bought four games from GOG so far, and must say I am totally disappointed. ALL FOUR have failed in one way or another. That's a bummer. You've really had a run of bad luck. I just counted and I have 47 games on my shelf. Some of them I'll never play because they were freebies like Jagged Alliance and Empire Gold and those are not my cup of tea. But I can only think of a couple that gave me the slightest trouble. I'm really sorry you can't say the same, TallyHo. Gil.

Tally Ho Did you try checking the GOG Forums? They have a Forum for each game and maybe another member there has found a fix or experienced the same problem. You may get help if posting too. Worth a try as I have not had one problem either with the games I have purchased from them.
