Drama once again in the neighborhood. Yesterday at 6 pm I noticed a big pick up truck and a small car parked behind it, directly in front of my house. Very unusual. Nobody parks there unless a party is going on. Went out the back door and pretended to check my mailbox (right next to them) and then I stopped and stared a long time. They didn't seem to care.

So I monitored and 3 guys were in the car. Then 45 minutes later, a passenger got out, walked to the Apartments (one house over between us) and came back very shortly. Then the backseat passenger got out, tossed some 'bills' in the lap of the driver, opened the pick up truck's driver's door and did 'something' then got back in the back seat of the car. THEN the car drove off.

It never returned! Truck is still there. I looked inside and it seems to have construction worker's stuff. Hard hat, heavy clothes, piecey parts of broken windows in the bed, etc. So I'm wondering now if they all had a 'job' to do that involved an overnight somewhere (what would that be in the DARK?) or they are all drunk or drugged up sleeping in the little car, or I dunno.

Hate having a strange vehicle right out front. Don't know who the guys are but if I'm right about buying drugs from the Apartment guys (looked like it to me) then these are not the type of men I'd want near my house.

Recorded all night and nothing moved around the truck (did see a lot of people on the street and am amazed at how many cars go in and out of my neighbor, the roofer's driveway...wow).

So now I wait and watch, took pics of the truck and it's license plate, gonna keep recording since I have to go to lunch today with friends and don't wanna miss the big finale.

Drama, I need it? rotfl

Hi boomies. I guess I didn't check in this morning. Sorry. Busy day so far. I didn't get to my Mom's yesterday. Sorry to disappoint you guys. I had to talk to her first and I wasn't happy with her after talking to my sister in San Fransico. My Mom told me she wanted to go home but she told my sister she was very happy where she was and said she would be happy to stay there. I'll speak to my Mom today and straighten it out.

I'm off to Rob's to give Emily her birthday gift and cute little easter plants for all of them. I can't wait to see their reactions when I give them the flowers. smile

Then it's off to work until 8:00 tonight.

Midgie hearts

Ana - congratulations on your new family. Bunnys are cute when babies and cute when grown up too. You will enjoy them, I know. Do you have names for them yet? Will they be alright in the city and all that? I have opossums under my house and they visit me at night and I always have some foodey for them and after eating they wander off.

Have you heard about tornados in Dallas? Yesterday my daughter called and said she was fine and I said yeeeess(not knowing) and then she told me about the weather they had. And I flipped. Googled and WunderMaped - my word! They live on Palomar Lane and tornados were llft and right of them but they escaped. 2 more daughters in Tulsa but they were noware near the bad weather. Whew good.

There's a wildflower explosion going on here - trying to identify all of them and losing-they are way ahead of me. There's some I'v never seen befor. Last summer we had a record drought and now we have record rainfall. And I don't cut my grass anymore, weeds as tall as the loquat tree-4 feet. ID'd them-sow thistle

Happy Wednesday all

Hey everybody. wave

I spent the morning and half the afternoon at the creek. Perfect day for it.
thumbsup

THIS is my big find of the day.

When I saw it in the water I thought there's no way that's a point. It's too small. shocked

It's what they call a bird point. yes

It's also the most perfectly formed point that I've ever found. wink

It took some skill to chip that out of a rock. shocked

Wow Joe, that point is perfect! Congratulations!

Yankee, I thought about you yesterday when I heard about the weather. Glad you and your daughter are safe. Is sow thistle edible?

Night Haroula, sleep well. sleep

I have my computer search down to 2. Sent specs off to son for sanity or the what-I-don't-know-could-cost-me check. Either place will take about 3 weeks from order to delivery hardwall

Son is on his way back from the park with the kids to drop them off and then go pick up a friend and take them to work. Hopefully he will take his honda, not my truck. Speaking of which, the mystery of why our Honda was not registered last year is solved. They had it filed under daughter's name and under our name. It was paid under daughter's name, though she never drove that car and not paid under our name. confused Anyway, it's all fixed now (supposedly).

Joe, that is amazing! yay What a wonderful find!

Haroula, very cool that your son now his own "computer" to play on.

L4L, I hope you can get your order in soon so you get a computer of your own. Is it going to be a laptop? What is wrong with yours?

Yankee, I moved out of Chicago ten years ago. I live in the burbs now and across from a large forest preserve. We have foxes, coyotes, deer, skunks, opposums and a whole list more. It took getting used to after being a city girl for 40 years but I would not go back. I am only 15 miles away from the Chicago border so I visit often enough.
I am so glad you and your family is safe. hearts

be back

Ana, mine won't boot. It's been wonky for quite awhile now, every since I had a virus awhile back. It will be a happy camper all day. You turn it off and the next day, No booting! Hubby worked on it for 2 days straight, but so far no joy. So it's time to throw in the towel and get new one.

Hopefully hubby will get my current one up though as it will take about 3 week from order to delivery. If not, we will just keep sharing.

It will be a desktop. I don't like laptops...I'm always nervous that one of the dogs will come bounding up and land in the middle of it. I'm almost always home so I don't need the portability of a laptop.

Back later...helping daughter make coleslaw. wave

Ana, Hubby was reformatting it and it hung, and then work called.....he'll give it another shot. He just hasn't been home to do it and I'm not going to try to do it while watching the kids. Hopefully, he'll get it reformatted this weekend and then load the essentials to hold me over for bills etc. It is too strange to be sitting in his spot using his computer.

Must go take the Cully up and get him moving. He's about to fall asleep and it is much too late for that!

Truck mystery is sorta solved. At 2:30 as I was watching security tapes (saw a guy on a bike trying to break into the truck!) the little white car pulled up, out jumped a young man (not the ones I'd seen last night) and got into the truck. I heard the little car's driver yelling "You have to move it!" and then I went out and stood there watching. The guy in the small car (probably one of last night's guys) opened the passenger window and yelled to me, "I found him for you!" to which I replied, "Good" and then gave him a thumb's up.

My only guess is that the 3 guys last night went out drinking, the truck was one of those guys', and he was too drunk to drive so the guy today got his son to pick up up for them and drive it away. Dunno, just a guess, but I'm so thrilled to have it GONE!

happydance I have been rescued. Both hubby and son have arrived at home. Mr. Perrin is happily wii-ing, and son and hubby are entertaining the grouchy one (Cullen) who is proudly telling the guys that he does not like me. Well of course he doesn't...I make him behave :rtofl:

Dinner will be ready in a few minutes...hubby is braving the hordes of mosquitoes outside to cook the steaks. After dinner son will put 2 legged monkeys to bed, I'll play Fire with Per for a bit, hubby will look at my computer builds so I can get one ordered, and then I will collapse into bed and read!
