BTW, the verse refers to an interpretation by Daniel of three words written on the palace wall by a hand that appeared to Belshazzar after he used the gold and silver goblets taken from the Jewish temple to party with. They were: "Mene, Tekel, Parsin"
Mene: God has numbered the days of your reign and brought it to an end.
Tekel: You have been weighed on the scales and found wanting.
Parsin: Your kingdom is divided and given to the Medes and the Persians.
From this we get the expression: "seeing the handwriting on the wall"
