Lindy, that was a good call on your part. I got several phishing emails for the Pandarian beta before I got the real one.

You could log onto your battlenet account and check there to see if you have an invite to Diable and/or Pandaria. wave

Me too, L4L. I have had Phishing emails too. This invite went to my wow email so I knew it was for real, then checked my wow account. I haven't been invited to MoP.
Hi Linda! Nice to see you! yes

Well, I was going to play some Diablo beta today, but so far, no joy. I launched to play. Clicked play. Got the Diablo Skull. After awhile, it changed my screen resolution and thought, and thought, and thought. Then it sent me to Battlenet to make a Battlenet ID. I did. Then I tried to launch the game again. When I do, it goes to a black screen for a few seconds and then back to the desktop. I can hear a quick bit of music when it first tries to launch but that's it.

I will have to do some reading. Hubby said he got his to run a few days ago, but could not get it to run last night.

That's too bad, L4L. I haven't had any problems at all.

Is your computer up to snuff, L4L?

Drac, I think it's fine for the WoW beta, but it is obviously at the edge for Diablo. I tried several times to change the graphics settings as the words are difficult to read, but was never successful. My video card is newish but hubby just reminded me that my motherboard is 4 years old.

But, the good news is my new computer has shipped happydance

Hubby did figure out why I couldn't get it to run though. I'd open the game, alt tab out to copy my password, and at least on this computer, Diablo is NOT alt tab friendly!

So I did get to play, and we discovered we could play cooperatively. We are still trying to figure out the ins/outs and whatchamacallits, but we had fun.

Do you know where the saves Live? It would be nice to be able to load my saves from this computer to my new one, though now that I say that, I don't think it will work as my new one is W7 and this one is XP.

I know I don't like that it saves at check points. sad

I agree L4L about the saves. I have no problem ALT/TABing on this new computer for Diablo, but I do with Skyrim. duh

That's funny....I can alt tab with Skyrim rotfl

Anyway, I looked at my video card and it is above the min but not near the max. New computer incoming has 2 gig memory on the video card so I should be able to alt tab away. rotfl

Drac, are you playing?

Oh, how cool! What did you get? I love to live vicariously through other people's new computers?

I don't have the game, so I wouldn't have a clue about saves. Saves only at checkpoints is one of those things that can make me crazy in these games.

I bought from Digital Storm, and so far have been impressed. I looked at several companies, but DS has an A+ from BBB and were the easiest to get in touch with and did not try to upsell me. In fact, the guy kept saying, "Well, if you want that component, it will work, but you don't need that for what you want to do with your computer." I gave him my budget and he brought me in $600.00 under.

Course, the real proof will be when it comes in and is set up. We shall see.

I do know he said that Diablo had a more rigorous video requirement than WoW. puppy

Well that will be down to the fact that WoW is eight years old, and Diablo III is new smile

(the boxed version is still supported, and that is was released in 2004)

I loaded the beta the first day and it seems like it's going to be fun. The first day I couldn't get it to launch, but when I looked at the forums other people were having the same problem. The second day when I tried to launch it updated some files and launched and I played for quite a while.

According to Blizzard some features aren't available in beta -- I'm not sure which since I didn't really read far into the article. Hopefully as I play more I'll have a better idea.

I created a wizard -- may try something different later on. I like the idea of the witch doctor, but the witch doctor females are too heavyset for me, lol. I have enough weight problems myself, and want a svelte toon.

Jean, that is funny. Did you look at the size of the Warrior woman? I don't normally care but I did a double take. I'm playing a monk and loving it, but I may at some point try a warrior or a demon hunter. That's the fun part of Beta to me...I'm not loosing anything by trying different classes. wave

edit: Just read that the Beta closes on May 1. wave

Ok, I have the game and it works great so far. I don't like the checkpoints either. frown
Right now I have a lvl 3 Demon Hunter, but going to try something else. So far I like it.
