Between two evils, I always pick the one I never tried before.

A little boy was doing his Geography homework one evening and turned to his father and said, "Daddy, where would I find the Andes?" "Don't ask me," said his father. "Ask your mother. She puts everything away in this house."

A man on a bike was stopped at the border by police assigned to investigate goods transported across both states. He carried a bag of sand. On perusing through however, the cop found nothing else in the bag and therefore let him go. The next day this man was stopped with his bike and a bag of sand and the same process carried out. Again, he was let off when the cop found nothing illegal. This sequence carried on for three years. One day both men, the cop and the bike guy, met at a pub. "Tell me, man," said the cop, "I promise I will not tell anyone; but what were you smuggling all those years?" Surprised, the man looked at this professional, laughed and shrugged. "Bicycles," he said.

Wife: There's something preying on my mind.
Husband: Don't worry, it'll soon die of starvation.

A judge was interviewing a woman regarding her pending divorce, "What are the grounds for your divorce?"

She replied, "About four acres and a nice little home in the middle of the property."

"I mean," he continued, "What are your relations like?"

"I have an aunt and uncle living here in town, and so do my husband's parents."

He said, "Do you have a real grudge?"

"No," she replied, "We have a two-car carport and have never really needed one."

"Please," he tried again, "is there any infidelity in your marriage?"

"Yes, both my son and daughter have stereo sets. We don't necessarily like the music, but the answer to your question is 'yes'."

"Ma'am, does your husband ever beat you up?"

"Yes," she responded, "most days he gets up earlier than I do."

Finally, in frustration, the judge asked, "Lady, why do you want a divorce?"

"Oh, I don't want a divorce," she replied. "I never wanted a divorce. It's my husband. He says he can't communicate with me."

Enclosed you will find my 2005 tax return showing that I owe $3,407.00 in taxes. Please note the attached article from the USA Today newspaper, dated 12 November, wherein you will see the Pentagon (Department of Defense) is paying $171.50 per hammer and NASA has paid $600.00 per toilet seat.

I am enclosing four (4) toilet seats (valued @ $2,400) and six (6) hammers valued @ $1,029), which I secured at Home Depot, bringing my total remittance to $3,429.00.

Please apply the overpayment of $22.00 to the "Presidential Election Fund," as noted on my return. You can do this inexpensively by sending them one (1) 1.5 " Phillips Head screw (see aforementioned article from USA Today newspaper detailing how H.U.D. pays $22.00 each for 1.5" Phillips Head Screws). One screw is enclosed for your convenience.

It has been a pleasure to pay my tax bill this year, and I look forward to paying it again next year.

Sincerely,

A Satisfied Taxpayer

"Got anything to eat, lady?" asked the tramp.
"Do you mind eating last week's leftovers?"
"Not at all."

A man and his wife were sitting in the living room and he said to her,

"Just so you know, I never want to live in a vegetative state, dependent on some machine and fluids from a bottle. If that ever happens, just pull the plug."

His wife got up, unplugged the TV and threw out all of his beer.

A guy walks into the local welfare office, marches straight up to the counter and says, "Hi...You know, I just HATE drawing welfare. I'd really rather have a job."

The social worker behind the counter says, "Your timing is excellent. We just got a job opening from a very wealthy old man who wants a chauffeur and bodyguard for his nymphomaniac daughter. You'll have to drive around in his Mercedes, but he'll supply all of your clothes.

Because of the long hours, meals will be provided. You'll be expected to escort her on her overseas holiday trips. You will have to satisfy her sexual urges. You'll have a two-bedroom apartment above the garage. The starting salary is $200,000 a year".

The guy says, "Aww I don't believe that. I think you're lieing!"

The social worker says, "Yeah, well... you started it."

This test only has one question, but it's a very important one. By giving an honest answer, you will discover where you stand morally. The test features an unlikely, completely fictional situation in which you will have to make a decision. Remember that your answer needs to be honest, yet spontaneous. Please scroll down slowly and give due consideration to each line.

You are in Florida, Miami to be specific. There is chaos all around you caused by a hurricane with severe flooding. This is a flood of biblical proportions. You are a photojournalist working for a major newspaper, and you're caught in the middle of this epic disaster. The situation is nearly hopeless. You're trying to shoot career-making photos. There are houses and people swirling around you, some disappearing under the
water. Nature is unleashing all of its destructive fury.

Suddenly you see a man floundering in the water. He is fighting for his life, trying not to be taken down with the debris. You move closer... somehow the man looks familiar. You suddenly realize who it is. It's George W. Bush! At the same time you notice that the raging waters are about to pull him under.

You have two options-you can save the life of Barack Obama, or you can shoot a dramatic Pulitzer Prize winning photo, documenting the death of one of the world's most powerful men.

So here's the question, and please give an honest answer :

Would you select high contrast color film, or would you go with the classic simplicity of black and white?

Good morning everyboomie. wave

Actually as you can see it's not quite morning yet, and I'm not quite in a cheery, gleeful frame of mind.

In fact I'm afraid I may die of whiplash from my head dropping down on my chest over and over.

Don't worry I'll be my normal cheery self by morning.

See ya then.

Have a happy day everyone.

Good morning and have a terrific day Joe, Ana, Haroula, Cailyn and all who come in after me. wave

Well, it's time for another work whoosh. Except for one coughing fit when I lay down to go to sleep last night, the allergy medicine seems to be working. thumbsup Whether it's an irritant or a newly developed allergy, it doesn't matter. I can take deep breaths without coughing again, which is all that does. yes

Okay, I have to run now so I'm not late. Still too tired. lol

Have a great Sunday, everyone. spring

Good morning everyone. Yesterday I helped best friend run the food concessions at her church fund raiser. We were lucky and the weather held. It was cloudy, but no rain. Today breakfast out and a Sam's trip is on the agenda. To all here and all who follow, have a Wonderful Sunday. Danish, Ham and cheese omlets, hash browns, and Biscuits in the NC. Biscuit bottoms for L4L. spring

Good morning good friends.

Well, it started out clear but now is cloudy. 60 for today. Don't have anything planned for the day except go to Susie's for dinner late this afternoon. So, it looks like reading and gaming. Tomorrow, I have to work at the library gift shop then Thursday and Friday mornings at the book fair. I do need to quit buying books. lol Running out of room for them.

The latest on Ginny, the one who lost her legs. She has been going to intense physical therapy and is now starting to walk on her new legs. Still using parallel bars. She is one spunky lady for 77. Her goal is to get back in her house by the end of summer.

Well, guess I'll go do something for awhile.

Have a wonderful Sunday and hugs to all.

Bets

Good morning boomies. Got to bed late and got up early so I'll be and tired out by bedtime. lol

I have too much I want to squeeze in today and I am well on my way. I par-steamed my ribs for dinner for a couple hours and made the weeks supply of quinoa. Laundry is done and put away and I got in a couple hours of project time.

I am heading to the park after I post to get my 4 miles in with the dogs, then home to shower and get ready to meet my sis and niece at the casino. After that I hope to stop at the mall on my way home to pick up a few things on sale. Then on to Whole Foods to get about 20 more mangoes since the ones I bought the other day disappeared in two days. lol

After that it's back to the corner till bedtime except for finishing my ribs. yay Life is good!

Haroula, have a great day!

Sue, don't float away!

Venus, glad the meds are helping you.

Midgie, we have fire warnings out for the third time in a couple weeks. We are very dry also. Hope work goes well. hearts

Gail, I am sorry you are not feeling well. I hope you feel better.

Connie, is hubby starting to get more energy now? Have fun shopping!

SpaceQ, the fun never lasts but I guess the rest of the week is there to make us appreciate the free time.

Nan, woohoo on the party! Is it a surprise? Have fun planning.

Bets, glad your friend is doing better. That's wonderful.

Off I go before I run out of time....

Have a great day!

Super Sunday ya'll wave

I woke up to complete bedlam this morning so went back to the bedroom til it all settled down. In the next couple of weeks I should have a computer in my room....I can put a coffee maker in there and then I won't have to come out. rotfl

I don't think we have rain in the forecast, so I may grab the doggies and go out and tour the neighborhood. I have excess annoyance that I need to drain.

Later this afternoon I think we will take the boys and go keyboard and monitor shopping. I want to get an hd tv to use as a monitor. I know some folks who have done that and they really like it. Just have to find one the size and the price I can live with. Also, I'm not picky about much, but I am picky about my keyboard so have to go find an ergonomic one that I like.

Course, the new computer won't get set up til next weekend...no way to do that with the boys here.

I do have some paperwork I need to take care of, so at some point I'll abscond to the kitchen sans kids and take care of it...thank God for Soot. Once son gets home to take the kids (which may be very late), I'll go to bed and read. Unless of course, he doesn't get home til past their bed time, I'll put them to bed and then I'll go. So that is my day in a nutshell.

I was up way too late last night This Book I had started it late the night before and enjoyed it but had no time yesterday to get to it so just stayed up til I finished. Now I have to pick a new book.

Back later puppy
