I've played the game sureshot - the man wakes up in a morgue but I can't remember whether he was in an asylum or not but there were a lot of locked rooms? smile

Cruise, was that a mental hospital as well? I suppose it was. I was actually referring to the one she visits in Cuba. So perhaps there were actually two in that game. lol

I believe Nina got into the room you're referring to after the train she was traveling on crashed. One of the men in robes seemed to have caused the accident somehow.

Now, something my fiance and I have noticed that we both get a big kick out of is how often plinths are featured in games. The first plinths we remember coming across were on the train in Tunguska. Neither of us had ever even heard of a plinth, and now you hear all these game characters talk about them as though they are common objects. We like to keep track of how many games actually make mention of them, and there are quite a few. Fiance says plinths are "in." lol

My theory is that they are really imaginary objects -- or at least their existence has been greatly exaggerated. I've never seen one in real life. That I remember as a plinth.

Could a plinth just be a brick in disguise?

Fiance said we used to have some at work. (After we discovered that word, we paid attention. lol ) The managers called them plinths, but they weren't nearly as impressive looking as the plinths we've seen in games. They were a lot smaller.

The plinths at work could have been. grin The plinths in the games . . . maybe really, really big bricks. lol

Now I'm really stumped - what exactly is a "plinth"? I never heard of such a thing, ever in my whole life.

This is the first time I've ever heard of this word.

cruise02,
There you are with the biggest free dictionary in the world (Google) at your fingertips and you don't know what a plinth is. Tsk! What are we going to do with you? lol

Oh, okay, it's a block or stone on which a statue, column or pedestal sits. The word is definitely more interesting than it's definition.

Gil.

Right chrissie thumbsup - it was a while ago. I remember the game was a bit eerie and I enjoyed it very much.

Me too sureshot, but I remember the main character not being too likeable & the game causing a slight controversy over a couple of offensive comments which in my mind were just reflective of his attitude! smile

I agree - his - Sergey I think - comments might have put some folks off.

It's bringing back memories now - yes it started in a Morgue - lots of bodies - No not an asylum.

I am in the BAAGS list somewhere - maybe a 5 - Love the games - just don't match the details as much as would like. cry

I just met a plinth! In Captain Morgane and the Golden Turtle. Does this mean that the likelihood of a plinth being real is about the same as the likelihood of a Golden Turtle being real? penguin

Well!
Click to reveal..
I know now that a Golden Turtle is real
so therefore any plinth must be real! lol

In Miskatonic: The Inhuman Stain you'll be visiting an asylam, the Arkham Asulym to be precise. I just tried the demo and this is one game I'll defintely be looking out for and maybe buying when finances aren't as tight as they are right now.
