We've reached 20 pages on the previous Name the Game thread, and so I'm starting another one. If anyone would like to view the previous Name the Game thread, you'll find Page 1 of the thread here. For those who are joining us for the first time for Name the Game, this is the procedure:One person (hereinafter known as "It") posts a clue to an adventure game. The clue can be simple or difficult or straightforward or creative. Clues can be information about characters or events or puzzles or more (though we do try to stay away from outright puzzle spoilers). Everyone who wishes to participate can post the name of the game that best matches the clue. If no one has guessed after an attempt or two (or if a day passes with no guesses), "It" gives another clue. The person who guesses correctly then becomes "It" and posts a clue for a different game, and so on. If you've posted a guess, or if you are "It," check back every day to see if you've guessed right or if you need to identify the correct guesser, so the game continues smoothly! (When thinking up clues, a good place to look for possible ideas is the GameBoomers collection of adventure walkthroughs -- plenty of inspiration there.) I am currently IT.Clue #1: Chewed up bubble gum. **************************************** (For those interested, the current thread titles are listed below.) Creature Crunch of Name the Game Maniac Mansion of Name the Game Slip Space of Name the Game Zero Zone of Name the Game

At the direction of the President of the United States, STAY IN YOUR HOMES! STAY IN YOUR HOMES!" I paid no attention, and I'm the ribcage the ant tossed on the dust heap. If only I'd known then what I know now! (Wasn't that guy Santa Claus in Miracle on 34th Street? I knew Santa was suspicious!) Clue #4: Giving birth every few seconds? How on earth does she do it?

You're an extremely talkative ribcage. James Whitmore. Santa? The only one I remember is Edmund Gwenn...I think. Where do you find these weird games?? Why do I have a feeling the developer was Og and the game was engraved on stone around 400 BC? Gil.

If a skull can talk non-stop, I don't see why a ribcage can't. This is a recent game, full of sophistication and nuance. I think the developers are named Jay and Steve, though I could easily be mistaken. BTW -- Santa Claus IS in Them! He's Dr. Harold Medford. Or something like that. He's decided that Macy's is a bore, and he's gone on to bigger and better things.

"This is a recent game, full of sophistication and nuance. I think the developers are named Jay and Steve, though I could easily be mistaken." I hope everyone appreciates my digging another clue out of you. I wonder if there's more than a ribcage on that dust heap. A talkative toe, maybe. Gil.

I have a vague memory of a chewed up bubble gum in Harvest of souls. The rest of the clues awaken however no familiar scenes from the game

You got it Venus! My reasoning behind my clues which I'm sure you've already worked out for yourselves: Clue number 1: The "Flapper" makes a brief appearance at the beginning of the game. Clue number 2: Fashion is important in that you can't get inside the museum's party without dressing appropriately. Clue number 3: Nose for News -- Laura Bow is a reporter. Clue number 4: Getting ahead -- Ambitious reporter. Getting a head -- Finding Ziggy's head.

Sounds like a character who complains a lot. Well maybe, maybe not. In any case, it's not Ankh. Clue 2: My nightmares are haunting me.

Oh, darn. I didn't think it was! Okay, give me some time. This has been one of those days, Bunkie, it will take me a minute. Or two.
Clue 1: Just hanging around.

My clues are in the order of play as you would go through the game but I guess they must be pretty rubbishy !!!! Well here's CLUE SIX nonetheless .... " I'll have to disable the house alarm before I can get in but I need a box to stand on in order to reach it. Maybe there is one in an outbuilding ??"

Oops! Sorry to hold the game up! Life has been full of distractions lately, and this went out of my mind completely until now.
First clue: I'm seeing multi images- I think I might go blind! I have to toggle off this view Before I lose my mind.

I think of it more as 2D with panning, Chrissie, but I guess technically it could be considered 3D. I'll wait awhile before posting the next clue, just in case my rhyme inspires an answer.

That's not it, Becky. This one is much less serious.
Third clue: The big guy's dumb with lots of heart. The little one is very smart. Got that coin? Get on the bus! Missed it again? Now don't you cuss!

I love your answer, Sureshot, but it's not those two guys.
Fourth clue: I work on a backwater planet. My job hadn't been too tough Until my partner got kidnapped, And then it got very rough.

Thanks LadyKestrel! From the 1st clue I thought it was The Rockin' Dead where you can toggle between 3D which has multi-images (& the need to use the specs) or 2D! I've never played TSB but it was the clue about the coin for the bus that gave it away as I've been following the playthrough on AGers! Clue 1: To access the info I want I need an ID card.

Ah, sorry everyone! Work has been so hectic this week, and I'm afraid I forgot it was my turn. This coming week should be a lot lighter, so hopefully this won't happen again. Anyway, clue 2: All of my senses have to be engaged for this to work.

No, I'm afraid This game is younger than Zak McKraken but older than Discworld Noir and The Whispered World. CLUE TWO : " There are five areas to visit and they include a castle, a desert and a wizard's tower. "

It's not a King's Quest game, venus. This game was released a couple of years later than KQ5 CLUE THREE : " Whilst in the desert you will need to visit the Spirit Plane."

sureshot, You're in the right time period for the first part of this game. (Hint) But it's not a horror game! (Strangely enough) Since I'm ever so nice , here's another clue. 1. ∞ 2. a diabolical plan 3. The knight keeps turning off the light! "I so badly want to swear."4. The king must die. He may. He's stuck in superglue. Gil.

Bwahahahaha! Yes! Valhalla Classics: Before the War - Episodes 5 - 8. I can't help it, I love the evil Lord of Infinity. He's so funny, I root for him whatever he does. Jarkeld, do you know if this is (or isn't) the first episodic game? I'm pretty sure it's the first episodic game with speech. If anyone hasn't played these, why are you waiting? Go get the free game with Infinity's nemesis, The Little Prince, The Crypt. There really is nothing like the Valhalla Classics. ( Mr. Bill likes them, too. ) Take it away, Jarkeld! Gil.

Clue #4: You do have a team, that goes away. You can issue orders, but do not control them directly.

Somebody else take it please, I'm under the weather.
Gil.
