It might be the dialogues.
Talk to him about Zollinger as murderer and poison gas.
Also you talked to Elspeth and Zollinger completely before coming here, right?

I used 7-zip. It's a free one - google it and see if CNET has it and download it from there.

I also am not used to win7 yet. But win7 has a very good "search" function.

Check if your saved game folder is in My Documents also.
