When you see a married couple coming down the street, the one who is two or three steps ahead is the one that's mad.
Helen Rowland
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Twenty inflexible Rules in the office
1. Never challenge the boss. He is always right.
2. If the Boss is mistaken, see rule # 1.
3. Those who work hard always get more work. Others enjoy pay, perks, and promotions.
4. Ph.D. denotes "Pull Him Down". The more capable, hardworking and dedicated you are, the more number of people will be involved in pulling you down.
5. If you are good, you will get a lot of work. If you are very good, you will get out of it.
6. When the Boss talks about improving productivity, he never includes his own self.
7. What you do in not important, what matters is what you say you have done and what you will be doing.
8. A pat on the back is only inches away from a kick in the behind.
9. Don't be indispensable. If you cannot be dispensed with, you cannot be promoted.
10. The more [blip] you take, the more you are going to get.
11. If at first you don't succeed, try again. Then quit. No use being a [blip] fool about it.
12. When you don't know what is to be done, walk fast and look concerned.
13. You cannot get work done by following rules.
14. If it weren't for the last minute, nothing would ever get done.
15. A lot can be filed under "Miscellaneous".
16. No matter how much you do, it is never enough.
17. You can do any amount of work provided it isn't the work you are meant to be doing.
18. It is not essential to know your job in order to get promoted.
19. You only need to pretend that you know your job to get promoted.
20. All the blame for any situation can be put on the last person who resigned or was fired.
There are four tourists from Oklahoma who are visiting London. They go to see the Big Ben. They all climb up the tower and decide to throw their wrist watches from the top, then hurry down the stairs and try to catch them before they hit the ground.
The first tourist, Lamar, threw his watch but heard it crash before the had taken four steps.
The second tourist, Vince, threw his watch and had hardly taken three before when he heard his watch shatter.
The third tourist, Harry, threw his watch and by the time he had taken two steps, the watch hit the ground.
The fourth tourist, Joe, threw his watch off the tower, went down the stairs, bought a cup of coffee from a shop down the street and walked slowly back to Big Ben in time to catch the watch.
"How on earth did you do that?" asked all his friends.
"Simple", Joe replied, "My watch is slow by 30 minutes."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Good morning everyboomie. wave

I guess it's a good thing my watch is slow. wink

That's actually because of my time travels in my time machine.

In order to travel in time you have to approach the speed of light, and as you approach the speed of light, time actually slows down for you. yes

Do you know what the speed of light is?

It's 186,000 miles per second. shocked

That would be around the Earth almost 8 times in a second.

Do you know what the speed of dark is?

Neither do I. headscratch

I hope it's really slow.

I'm fixing to go to bed, but I expect, as always, it's going to be way too fast, because the stupid light will come back around again and PUSH IT AWAY!!!! mad

My future's so bright, I gotta wear shades. cool

Have a happy day everyone. thumbsup

joe

Fantastic Friday ya'll....puppy

Today is middle son's b'day. He is at work, so I will try to catch him later to give him virtual hugs.

My eye has turned wonky again. Called the docs this morning. Of course, they could see me if I came this instant which I can't do as I have the kids. Hubby said he could be home by early afternoon, but they are not there on Friday afternoon. rotfl

Joe, I hope those shades aren't grey. whistle

Haroula, I hopeyou have a wonderful day too.

Gerry, there you are...I've been missing you.

Midgy, thanks for reminding us to exercise. I Used to love to play raquetball. Now I have to let my fingers do the walking. How is mom in her new place?

Venus wave

Lulu, it's good to see you in the diner.

Gail, I hope your day is wonderful.

Connie, I'm claiming a cinnamon bun. I hope your shoppity shop plans come to fruition. Give hubby a hug for me please.

Off to make breakfast for the kiddies..Back later puppy

Howdy Ho Boomers. I had a bit of bad luck recently. Had surgery on my back for spinal stenosis on Wednesday of last week. Spent 3 miserable days in the hospital lying flat on my back but was feeling pretty good when I got home. Unfortunately I had spinal fluid leaking constantly from the incision, so I had to go back in for a second operation on Tuesday. Now I think it's finally fixed. Still taking pain medication, but I'm able to be out and about. Family has been pampering me quite nicely so I think I will 'convalesce' and let them do everything for a few weeks.

L4L -your eye, have they taken cultures of it -maybe the meds aren't killing off all the bacteria. good vibes to you

And....lots has happened. First one of my cats, Greta, was missing for a week and 6 days and you can bet I was frantic. And after about 10 days I started singing "Time to say goodby" to myself. Last Friday AM she came home at 1 AM. Her meow woke me up. Well that was the end of sleep for that night because I stayed up and hughughug-ed her. The other cats(3) pick on her and I bet she thought she could get along by herself. I doubt she was locked in somewhere because there are no close neighbors and it's so very overgrown here, woods shrubs etc it's perfect for kits. Well she's home and all recovered and we are a family again.

Then I did something stupid -I ate that wonderful peter pan natural crunchy peanut butter. I am allgeric to it but this reaction put me on red alert -headachs, painful breathing and just plain hurt all over. P'butter is so good too. Well byby. Haven't thrown out the rest yet and i oonly bought the small jar too. What good are crackers without p'butter.

Beauty weather

Found out I can watch horror movies over youtube -these got me past the p'butter thing. some are bad -glad I didn't spend money on them.

Good gaming all

Hello everybody. wave

I'm beyond tired at near exhaustion right now.

Not looking forward to another close, yet I still have two to go.

It's getting hotter and that really takes a toll on my feet when I'm putting 10 miles a day on them.

I have two more hours to rest before work.

I hope everyone here has a great day.

Welcome back lulu. bravo

Welcome back Scarlet. I hope your back heals up quickly for you. yes

Back from breakfast...dogs and kids and g'ma all fed. Now the Cully is watching Spiderman for the gazillionth time and the Per is playing Rayman on the Wii and I'm going to sit and surf for a sec. Then later we are going to load up and go to the park and let them run...let....heck....I'm going to insist!

Hubby said he'd be home as soon as he can to relieve me, but we don't know what time that will be. puppy

On the phone singing "Happy Birthday" to middle son. We called but he didn't answer (at work, duh) so we left a message. He called back and said it sounded like Alvin and the Chipmunks.

He just told me they offered him a promotion at work..would have been a good move for the career but awful for the family, so he turned it down. Good for him!

Scarlet, let them pamper you...enjoy!

Nan, that is warm for you all. Stay in the shade, and be safe tonight.

Yankee, they haven't yet. That might be the next step. My immune system has never been robust and it normally takes several courses of antibiotics to roust germs from me. But I have a difficult time getting docs to understand that until they have seen for themselves through several illnesses.

I'm so glad Greta made it back home. You poor thing...hugs hugs and more hugs!

Joe, I hope work flies and you can get home and crash...but after work, not on the way home.

Back in a bit wave
