Hello, Playing Dracula 2 (The Last sanctuary). Slow going but now at a dead stop! I have reached the place where I am about to blow up the huge vampire face that blocks the tunnel I need to go through. I picked up the detonator under the stones but the cable did not come with it and the "no action" symbol was showing so guessed all okay. I got the key from the box and the dynamite from the box. I laid the dynamite in the mouth of the vampire head but nothing else happened tried every thing I could think of. Went back to the site where I got the detonator, and the cable still there but no way to get it. Tried all the things in my inventory, but no joy, can you please help?

Lozza

Are you following MaG's walkthrough? I wonder if you got everything you need.

Click to reveal..
". Go forward, turn around and pick up the hammer and chisel at left on top of stone.

Go down to the table. Look close at the drawer. Use hammer and chisel to open the drawer. Pick up the cable. See a plate on the back of the drawer. Use the hammer and chisel on the back of the drawer. Pull out the drawer and pick up the key.

Go forward once to the right of the table and look down on the box. Use the key to open the box. Pick up the dynamite.

Go back up one flight of stairs to the tunnel behind the now opened gate at base of second flight of stairs.

Vampire face: Place the dynamite in the mouth of the face and attach the cable.

At a safe distance (turn around and forward twice), attach the detonator to the end of the cable.

Press the detonator...."

Yes, I am using MaG's walkthrough, always do when possible, as find them very easy to follow.
I have checked and doubled checked that I have all that I need for this new scene. It is possible that I haven't got something from an earlier time,I s'pose, would that cause problems now? I will check again, thanks for your prompt reply.

Lozza, you should have picked up the cable from the table drawer -- did you do this? Perhaps go back to an earlier save and replay exactly by MaG's walkthrough. If you have managed to progress a part way through this puzzle with the detonation then you should be able to complete it if you have collected everything necessary for it. luck

Um,is now a good time to tell you that I had the cable all the time? Do I feel stupid!? It was on a wooden reel I didn't realise this, I was looking for the cable on the ground where I picked up the detonator. I blushed and went boomingly on till i got to the castle and was faced with the chessboard floor. First step....WRONG, game over. I couldn't believe it as I was not told to save my game. I haven't saved since the dynamite! Do I really have to start again? I know I am a nut job but this game takes no prisoners does it?

Aha, at least you had it, and it wasn't a game glitch! It's so easy to overlook these things. smile

Yes, this game is a bit of a "one" for Game Over moments, and forcing the player to go back to an earlier save. But don't worry, there are plenty of saves here that you can use:

The Last Sanctuary saves

Just choose the one nearest to where you are.

If you need any help with getting it downloaded or installed, just let us know.

Good luck, and enjoy the rest of the game!

(Remember to save often from now on, just in case. wink )

Hello

I have just finished the game Dracula 2( The Last Sanctuary). It was heavy going most of the rest of the way for me but I did it! Those steps were the worst! I think my copy of the game had maybe been replicated too many times as I could not make out the San script letters at all, all blurred. Also the perspective was off and where I was was not where I had pointed to! Never mind it was a good game, would play the next one if there was a next one? Thank you all that helped me it was very welcome and informative. Off to search for something else to play so .......see you soon.

Great that you finished the game, Lozza. Yes, the graphics in this aren't the sharpest, but it's an old game. Glad you enjoyed it. Yes, there was a third game in the series: Dracula 3, The Path of the Dragon.
