Just to weigh in, I think that "nicely" is not a good anagram indicator. An argument could be made for it, but a better word choice would be the best solution. I'm still not inclined to beat CCb. Yet.

Hint #2: direct is family man ccvccvc

I've been looking at "brother" and "stepson"
for a good while, unable to fit either with
"running after flight...it just hit me:
flight of stairs=steps, and running=on:
the show is running=on!So stepsON !
