welcomeBy way of reminder, the object of this game is to solve the clue presented by the previous poster and then set your own clue.

Anything from the (worldwide) crossword arena is acceptable by way of clue style, but if you stray from the pure path beware the scourge of... ...Pandora's WET NOODLE! scared

The puzzle could be an old favourite or something of your own making. Don't be shy: this is for everyone, not just the old hands!

There is nothing to prevent (say) a couple of related clues if offering a single clue cramps your style.

If there are multiple answers involved, there is no restriction against one person solving all and the solver of the final clue/part is the one who goes next.

Obviously you need to await confirmation of a correct answer before posting your own puzzle, but please then do so reasonably promptly: if having answered correctly you are not going to be able to set a follow-up clue within about the next 24 hours, please pass your turn to someone else so that the game does not stall.

To save the poor demented solvers from excessive brain damage, you should consider revealing one letter of the answer (in any position) when the question is set, unless the answer is relatively short/easy so that provision of a letter hint at the outset would spoil the sport!

If no-one is biting within about 24 hours you probably need to start dropping additional hints.

To try to give everyone a fair crack of the whip, the immediately previous setter is asked not to post a solution to the current clue within the first 24 hours.

The weighty trophy to be passed to whoever successfully solves your clue is the jewel-encrusted World Clue Federation championship belt ===[**WCF**]===

Constructive criticism and cheerful badinage are to be expected, not to mention a certain amount of national rivalry, but above all, have a bit of fun! urock

The next clue:

Note in detail? No, in redrawn outline (11)

"Delineation" ??????? - sort of means outline if you look at it in a dim light think

(Note - "E" - in redrawn "detail no in")

Looks good Rog. I don't understand e = note.

I was examining skelETONize which contains "note"
but getting nowhere!

Over here, we use anything in the range A-G as "note" (musical note)...

Ohhhh...ok; so it's "e" (not part of anagram)
appearing in "detail no in" anagrammed ...
Lex is in a bad mood again!!

Correct young Rog!

I did think of using "blurred" as the anagram trigger in deference to the failing eyesight from which I suspect that many of us on this site may suffer...

Here's something to help keep the trousers up:

Thanks, Lex. These days it's used to keep the waistline in... smile

Point to note - refuge is a sweet thing (6) - three vowels

Are you saying that this would be ok in your strange land:
Notes on card (5) answer: badge
badge = card; b,a,d,g,e = notes

I think notes would have to be used a little more sparingly with something else, so perhaps "evil notes on card" = bad + g + e, but is badge really a synonym for card?

In theory, yes Denis - in practice the crypt police might be boiling up the tar and looking for chickens. Even we have limits... smile

Oh - and early hint: direct is "a sweet thing"

Geezzz..."note" in clue again...makes me nervous!
I'll try: ecLAIR
At least, e and c are notes, lair = refuge
(perhaps point = e across the pond!)
...and I like chocolate eclairs !

Good solve, Denis!

Another one of our little pecadillos is to use "point" foe N, E, S or W (points of the compass)

A well-desrerved belt: ===[**WCF**]===
