I find casual games SO appealing, but the majority many of them either involve 1) timed elements or 2) matching things or 3)searching for hidden items. One style stresses me out and the other two bore me. My apologies to those who love them all, but I just like a pesky puzzle to solve. wink

Someone responded that I should check out Big Fish, and I did work my way through part of their list. I played about half a dozen, but ultimately got tired of sifting through the chaff. There are many HUNDREDS of games there. I'd be 70 before I gave them each a trial. lol "Jay is Games" also is a good source, but you know how they throw ads at you every time you start a game...

Does anyone know of a forum dedicated to casual games that are good puzzling without the gimmicks? I consider Zenerchi (sp?), Azada, and the Drawn games to fit the non-timed, non-matching, non-HOG criteria. Loved them! I even liked the creepy Ravenhurst, which has a semi-HOG component (the morphing objects) because you could fall back on the HINT button if you got tired of looking for hidden objects.

Two "adventure-lite" casual games that spring to mind are Nightmare Adventures: The Witch's Prison and Dark Alleys: Penumbra Motel. Have you played either of those? There are no HOG scenes in either game (apart from one sly reference in Witch's Prison, which is actually pretty amusing). wave

Thanks, Marian! I am going to jump on both of those. You are so sweet to take the time.

The Legend of Crystal Valley is a good adventure lite. Also if you check the Large File category at Big Fish you'll find all of the adventure and adventure lite games they offer.

Reenie, since I put in what kind of game is released in the title, you can easily find those by doing an Advanced Search with this criteria:

Casual Games
Search term is Lite
in Subject only

Newer than 5 years.

You will get all kind of game choices.

Oh, I really LOVED Safecracker. I kept that game after finishing it, and have replayed it twice since. Just my cuppa. I will look into Rooms, also, thanks!

I am, Marian! I bought Penumbra and it is just as much fun as it could be. Tricky and with some devious puzzles. Loving it.
