Maybe if this sort of thing happens on a new PC/mac/ipad/etc, you can take it to the shop and have the tech install UEFI to replace your "backdoored" BIOS (or other firmware)?
That's more "techy" stuff to learn for my education, though. I'll probably be taking Internet Security classes in the Spring 2013 semester at school, and I hope they discuss this issue or my teachers give us an assignment(s) about this and how to cure the issue, as it would be neat for us techs to stay one (or more) steps ahead of any governments like China regarding the computer industry.
Also, does this mean that if you have/using any of these "backdoored" computers/devices, the govt can spy on your private business and send the police to your door with a summons to arrest you if you do anything that they deem is against their (the govt's rather than Your Good Laws That You Prefer To Live By) laws?
