We've reached 20 pages on the previous Name the Game thread, and so I'm starting another one. If anyone would like to view the previous Name the Game thread, you'll find Page 1 of the thread here. For those who are joining us for the first time for Name the Game, this is the procedure:One person (hereinafter known as "It") posts a clue to an adventure game. The clue can be simple or difficult or straightforward or creative. Clues can be information about characters or events or puzzles or more (though we do try to stay away from outright puzzle spoilers). Everyone who wishes to participate can post the name of the game that best matches the clue. If no one has guessed after an attempt or two (or if a day passes with no guesses), "It" gives another clue. The person who guesses correctly then becomes "It" and posts a clue for a different game, and so on. If you've posted a guess, or if you are "It," check back every day to see if you've guessed right or if you need to identify the correct guesser, so the game continues smoothly! (When thinking up clues, a good place to look for possible ideas is the GameBoomers collection of adventure walkthroughs -- plenty of inspiration there.) I am currently IT.Clue #1 Refers to One Word in the Title of the Game I'm Thinking Of: Better than cheap **************************************** (For those interested, the current thread titles are listed below.) HINT: ONE OF THESE IS NOT PART OF AN ADVENTURE GAME TITLE Lost Souls of Name the Game Lost Tales of Name the Game Lost Files of Name the Game Lost Kingdom of Name the Game Lost Cavern of Name the Game Lost Garden of Name the Game Lost Keys of Name the Game Lost Horizon of Name the Game Lost Chronicles of Name the Game Lost Sword of Name the Game

Really, this is a guess. I haven't played it so I didn't know there were episodes. Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People? But if that's right, I don't get where "better than cheap" comes in. Would you mind elucidating? Gil.

"Better than cheap" is a word in the title of the particular episode. Clue #4: The Episode's title also includes a word that is in the title of this thread. Am I being too demanding???

Oh wow, I'm honored! Well.... Hint #1: How the heck was I to know, objection! to solve this I have to find the view's projection! hehe, it's either obvious or really hard :-)

Mad: sure Becky -- nope! Hint #2: After hours of careful sketching, My solution seemed to be matching. Unfortunately all I got in the end, was 1/9 of what was required by my friend. (well, he ain't really a friend, but there's a limit to the amount of time I'm willing to spend on looking for rhymes!)

Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney? Say what? Hint #4: If the guy from Hint #2 is friend or foe, hard it is to know, for some would claim, and I with them, this game has no plot to show

Hi Becky I don't remember Vimes appearing as a character in the games - but it's quite a while now since I re-played any Discworlds so I can't be sure. Maybe someone with more brain cells still in play will drop by and tell us !!

I'm stepping in with a clue! I'm providing individual clues, each clue is a hint indicating one word in the title of the game. The game was released between 1995 and 2000. You can have a look at the adventure games released during that period at the Pagoda Game Database.Clue #1 for one word in the title: Associated with another dollar.

Okay, I'm getting gold and mine out of this. But for clue 2, I'm not sure if we're talking about the resurgence or the city. Rome? Venice? Renaissance? Sigh. I should go look under the Pagoda. At least, I can cross Al Emmo off the list. Gil.

Traveler -- in the first sentence, you are correct. I confess that the game is a trifle obscure. Clue #4 for another word in the title: Rhymes with hackslacker.

Save an egg and end up on a lo-o-o-o-o-o-o-ng journey. The Longest, in fact. You're right, it was Sanitarium. Mad is messing with our heads. Gil.

I’m not good at this but here goes…
OK, in this game if the player (especially one who tends to try everything with everything LOL) tries to give a can of beer to a monkey the game chastises the player on the subject of animal cruelty.
If someone guesses and or I don't reply it's because I've lost power due to the nor'easter.

Runaway 2: The Dream of the Turtle? EDIT: Now that I think about it, I realize I'm probably wrong, as only Brian is playable in Runaway 2. Oh, well.

I guess I will:
Clue #1: This game differentiates significantly from its two predessers in terms of presentation and gameplay/pacing style, but also has a distinct polish and atmosphere. Clue #2: Some strange things on the menu today.

Nope!
Clue #3: The game is scary and horrific in some spots, compared to the other games in the series, which are merely suspensful and creepy.
