I just completed Divine Divinity and thought this was an awesome game. Havent had this much fun playing an rpg since Eye of the Beholder.

Anyone have some recommendations for some more games like this one? I have been playing mostly adventure games for the past few years, so Im thinking I may have missed more great games like Divine Divinity...

CountZero, did you check our annual list of favorites?

I've been playing Guilds Wars 2 and having a blast, but that is an MMO, not a RPG. wave

Hi Count-

Have you tried 'Beyond Divinity' or 'Divinity II Draconis'? They're both by the same company- Larian Studios. I think Beyond is a more like the original game as I think it was an expansion. I also thought the original Divinity was a great game.

I loved Part One of Divine Divinty II but had to give up shortly after reaching Part Two frown

Click to reveal..
Once I reached Part Two and was able to "become" a dragon. I found the controls deteriorated shockingly and made the game way too difficult !! eek

Drakensang is an RPG I would heartily recommend thumbsup
And if you haven't yet played the enhanced version of the first "Witcher" game - that is an absolute must bravo

Mad-
I agree with Drakensang and it's expansion- I loved the graphics in that game.

Count- if you're looking for some 'older school' rpgs, you might also check out Sacred I or II or the Neverwinter Nights franchise.

You may not be familiar with Anachronox, but I highly recommend it. It's very different. It's set in space and you must learn a different fighting style. Personally, I liked the graphics and found them beautiful. They are not up to today's standards though. The characters faces seem to be made more of angles than curves. Or at least that's the way I remember it.

What I enjoyed about the game was the beauty of the colors, the different worlds being presented, the interesting party members, the humor, the interaction between party members and the story.

I just loved the game. I don't think it gets enough credit.

You can get a look at it on GOG, there are forum opinions of this game.

I have read that Beyond Divinity was not very good. The reviews on GOG were not very favorable....

Edit 1: I will give those a look, thanks for the recommendations. Already played Neverwinter Nights...

Drakensang and Sacred are online games?

Neither one are online games. Their may be options to play them on line but they are both single player games that can be played off line.

If you liked Divine Divinity, it is my opinion that you would like Sacred equally well. The Sacred Gold version which includes all the patches and the expansion is available at GOG for 9.99 and well worth it.
