Journeyman Project 3

I must have a bug in this game. Does anyone have a save for the point after the Lama gives you the book of Knowledge?

I have five of six stones and I must have the book of knowledge to get the sixth and final stone from the Buddhas.

I have replayed from scratch this entire section three times getting the same result, dead end.

Here is what the walk throughs say. I have consulted several and they all agree with this. From Andersen's walkthrough on this site.



The problem is every time I have tried the Lama asks about "the cause of misery." Not the one he is supposed to ask and all three answer choices are wrong. No matter what I do I cannot get this guy to ask the required question.

I cannot find a patch anywhere nor can I find anyone who had this problem in any forum. I am quite tired of going through that maze from H a dozen times. I thought I may have missed a trigger somewhere. So on my second and third restarts I followed the walk step by step with the same result. I can certainly tell you what the cause of misery is, it this game.

If anyone has a save where I get the lousy book of knowledge will be a big help. Even if I need to retrace my steps reclaim some of the stones that may not have been gathered in your save. No problem I can navigate that maze in my sleep. In fact I may be doing that tonight. It is two A.M. on the left coast and you know what I have been doing.

Thanks for any help, I am about to blow the thing up.

I am also playing this game, and will soon reach the stage where you are. I will try to spot the trigger, or at least be able to send you a save. Gimme a few days.

(I also wrote a walkthrough for it, but it was posted on another site and alas - is gone.)

I will take a look Mad. The first one is posted on Boomers.

I just read word for word one of the walks and found nothing I missed. Why the guy won't ask the right question I have no clue.

I've got 3 saves for this game - but I have a note with them (that I wrote at the time I made them) that says :

"Can only use these saves when game is installed to XP
Don’t use these saves until you have all the orbs from the other 5 shrines"

And the saves have these descriptions :

“45 got the steam right”
“46 got all six orbs”
“47 out of tunnels with orbs”

If they are any good to you I could zip and send them.

Please do Mad I have the other five orbs. There is nothing to lose at this point.

I went to a walk linked by Mad, (Richardson)the interaction with the Lama is early on meaning nothing that happened afterwords could have been a trigger.

Replayed the required conversations with appropriate guises with Kahn and Lama. Reviewed the buddah to ensure my guy knew knowledge is the key for that orb. Again I get the wrong question even after following protocol asking about the other five categories.

I am totally clueless and await Mad's saves, hope one works.

Did you talk to the Lama about each of the six stones?


The white Buddha is carrying a lute

The red Buddha is carrying a fiery sword

The green Buddha is carrying a book

The black Buddha is carrying fire

The yellow Buddha is carrying a fruit

The blue Buddha is carrying a bowl

The association with the statues you have found is evident; you have yet to take care of the green and black Buddhas. Arthur advises you to revisit the lama.

62. Assume the guise of Kahn. Return to the Prayer Hall and the lama.

63. Talk to the lama, learn more of the Sidda and his secret. When you ask about the Realms, *** you must do so six times ***, and each time ask about a different realm. In particular, when you ask about the animal realm, the lama in turn will ask you a question about the cause of suffering (see item 3), to which you answer "Ignorance", and you will receive from him the Book of Knowledge.

Grey I did all that and he still asks me about Misery. There are only three possible answers.

Wine
Womanizers
Song.

Of course none of them are right and you you get no other options. But the best answer is,

"I'll take womanizers for 1,000 Alex"

LOL

Hope you get it figured out and can continue on to the final puzzle to see how you liked it..

You saved the day! I tried the Out of the Tunnels save and it is recognized by the game. It appears all I missed was answering the correct question and then picking up the green orb. I already had the other five and gotten out of the tunnels.

I have no idea why I could not get the right question. I even repeated the conversations with Kahn just in case a missed comment was the trigger. It made no difference. I went over line by line two walk throughs and could see nothing that I missed. Obviously, either a trigger failed or I missed something.
