Try your hand at these brain-busting trivia questions. Remember, please, that you may not google or use any reference sources for the first 24 hours of this thread. -1. In land surveying, how long, in feet, is a chain? -2. Bob Hope and Bing Crosby took movie "roads" to seven destinations. Name them. -3. What gives the gemstone turquoise its distinctive color? -4. Which president turned over 40 years of government paychecks to charity? -5. Which Beatles hits were on the first single recorded by the Fab Four on their Apple label? -6. Why was the Animal Crackers box designed with a string handle? -7. What is the meaning of the Greek word kosmetikos, from which we get the word cosmetics? -8. What great thinker proved that a lunar eclipse is the circular shadow of the earth on the moon? -9. Where are the only remaining free-roaming panthers in North America? -10. Where did Samuel Clemens get the idea for his pseudonym, Mark Twain?
The moon is actually more useful than the sun since the moon gives us light at night when it's dark. The sun only gives us light during the day when it's already bright out.

6. So you could hang it on the Christmas Tree.
I remember when I was little that I would get a box to eat while sitting in the grocery shopping cart while my Mom shopped.

Haroula, that one was right up your alley! Gail, Bernie and zook - good answers! Jema and Rog, I'm going with Rog. The boatmen on the Mississippi would call out "mark twain" to indicate a depth of two fathoms.
