Forgive a bit of musing, but the other day it dawned on me the perfect description for the two-piece, multi-shape box for Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers. (If you go to Mobygames, you'll see which one I'm talking about.)

I've seen the box called odd, weird, etc, but all these seem unspecific. It could be called alternate or unique, but these are vague too. It seems to defy a concise description. Even polygonal isn't too helpful as there are many types of polygons.

As morbid as this sounds, I thought it actually resembles a gallows. Does any one else agree or see this? Was this Sierra's intent when it was released? Has anyone else heard this before?

Thats a great question Coreoverload. I have no idea myself but maybe you can ask Ken and Roberta Williams while they enjoy retirement on the seven seas at their Blog site http://www.kensblog.com/aspx/m/About_Ken

I think it looks more like a guillotine blade.

I have the box and it could be a gallows, especially as there is a figure hanging on the top part.
I have always thought it was somewhat reminiscent of a coffin, given its angular shapes.
Whatever it is, it must have been a pain manufacturing the thing.

I had that box when it first came out! Didn't like the shape, thought it took up too much room so through it away. hardwall
