There may be one or two that we might question, but they're still fun. Please explain all answers. -1. Melting ice originally covered by brownish-purple volcanic rock (6) -2. Be overly frugal and fail to report income partner's capital (5) -3. Chunks of egg left among almonds and pecans (7) -4. Sailing canoe by myself across part of the Pacific (7) -5. Some decadent or temptingly rich dessert (5) -6. Pointed out parts as two contrary things (9) -7. Part of a flight heading to Rome is evacuated earlier (5) -8. Speech or a lecture about musical composition (7) -9. Dark brown endless abyss in large body of water (5) -10. Buggy got ruined taking the back roads (9) -11. Sometimes lost is where you need to be. Just because you don't know your direction doesn't mean you don't have one.

7: Part of a flight heading to Rome is evacuated earlier (5) Riser = part of flight (of stairs!). R(ome) IS E(arlie)R ; if so, "evacuated earlier" is really neat!!

Good solve, Denis. I liked that one, too. The last one is a simple charade. The clue splits where you don't expect it to.

2. Be overly frugal and fail to report income partner's capital (5) cheap? cheat = fail to report income p = partner's capital (capital letter = first letter) ...probably wrong; don't see anything indicating "t" being replaced by "p"...
