Did you east coasters feel the earthquake?

Thanks for the good wishes. A combination of migraine med, a few ibuprofen, 50 ounces of water, and a shot of espresso combined with fresh air and I'm back to normal again. lol Desperate times call for desperate measures.

I have to finish cooking, be back...

Well that was fun...not. COX guy showed up 30 minutes past the final time they said. He was however, cute. He had to change my entire computer modem, move phone IN lines from place to place, and then we tested everything. Well, then started the fun. I have a set of 3 Panasonic wireless phones. They all worked fine. Then I have an old 'acrylic' phone in the bedroom which lights up. Pretty thing. That wasn't working at first. AND when I tried to dial OUT, to my neighbor, I got a ring and then over the ringing I got the 'hang up and dial again' message. Annoying. Told the guy who was now up a ladder on the pole. He was baffeled.

Then the pay phone in the kitchen (a beautiful chrome old phone) had a dial tone, but nothing happened. Ditto for the 1020's phone in the hall. FINALLY he figured out that they wouldn't accept the dial tone (new ones are digital I guess). We figured out that you can dial IN to my house and I can pick up on those but not dial out. No problem. I only use them for extensions anyway.

AND then the strange message over the dialing was the old ATT line was duplicating my signal so he cut that and now I'm back in business with a new spiffy modem (at no charge) that has a new feature and will switch to one of 5 bandwidths if one is slow. Neat.

So never again. Too complicated and toooo hot in here. I'm dripping. Hottest part of the day. Wish he had come earlier, but now he's back to a previous person whose whole modem setup stopped working. Joy of all joys. Yup. Everything is so complicated.

Used to buy a phone, plug it into the wall and bingo! It worked. Now it's wires all over and into the computer and out and over and under...I'm soooooo tired.

WARNING! This person is extremely blonde...please type SLOWLY.
