Has anyone got Morrowind installed now? Have you tried that new package mod - Morrowind Sound and Graphic Overhaul 3.0??

Someone was talking about it on Just Adventure so I broke down and installed Morrowind again. The pictures they showed initially were so beautiful I couldn't resist. I wanted to know how it would look on my computer. Huh..

The mod was very easy to install and mostly automated. There were a few prerequisites that had to be done during the installation process.

When it asked me if I had a slow, medium or fast computer I chose medium hoping against hope that would run. It did run. And boy, were the graphics beautiful. I think I start out with lower expectations anyway, because when I see the graphics of the modern games they just blow me away. But these looked as good as Skyrim to me (in my limited experience). The colors were more vivid, the picture much more detailed and sharp. It was a pleasure looking at it.

However, my computer is not a medium computer. The framerates were unacceptable. I could get 30fps indoors, but it dropped down to 6/7 outdoors. And the npc's would go dark or disapear. I tried to reset it to slow computer. It was definitely much better than vanilla Morrowind, but a letdown from medium. Anyway I had to uninstall again as something went wrong. Need a new installation if I want to continue on this setting with this mod.

Just wanted to know what you gamers thought of it or if you had tried it.

Can't wait for my new system. I'll be able to play it at top settings.

I wish, Looney. I've got some money saved and am hoping and keeping fingers crossed that I can keep saving at a certain rate. I'm trying to get it within the next 4-5 months. Praying my computer will last at least that long. Then I'll have to struggle with how much will I actually need to get a system as inexpensive as possible, but that will satisfy me that it can and will handle any RPG that comes along at full throttle for the next 3-4 years. At least with no more than a video card upgrade.

Anyway, the answer to your question is no. I can only dream and save at this point. happydance

I'll probably have to compromise when I get closer to having enough money. But this is what I'm dreaming of.
