Hi,

I fear I've run into a glitch but maybe I'm just not doing something right. I'm on Salia 4 trying to do the map/Mystical Places puzzle. I've found everything: laser gun, machete, purple lake, and the 4 places. When I talk to the native and try to tell him the 3 important places, the laser gun will not come up to choose. I went into a previous save and tried again and talked to the native immediately after finding th laser gun. It came up in the list then, but after I find the other 2 items, the laser gun will not come up. I cannot proceed in this area if I can't tell him all 3 items. am I doing something wrong or is there something else I need to do. (Or some trick to get this to show?)

Thanks.

That is a known problem.

Here's the posted solution:
To prevent issues at the Native quiz in Salia 4, please set your font size to 100% (not over).

luck

Can you tell me how and where to do that?

Now that you say that I think I saw something about that in the review.

Thank you MaG.

Rushes posted this:

Go into your Windows Control Panel, then 'Appearance and Personalization', then 'Display', and you should see your current font setting which is changeable from that screen.

Hope that solves the problem.

Okay, off to try that now. It says I have to restart my computer for it to take affect, then I will try the game puzzle out again and let you know if it worked.

Well, that worked like a charm but....

I hope you don't mind if I mad for just a moment. After finishing that puzzle I got stuck in the Blowtorch Upgrade puzzle. It does not let you exit out so you can exit the game to go to bed or whatever. After about 3 hours it was after 2 am so I just left my computer on and the game on and went to bed. I tried again today for more than 2 hours and for some reason still could not get the puzzle. Last night I had it going all the way to the right hand side before she said it wasn't right but out of frustration I cleared everything and then couldn not remember how to even get it back to that point. Anyway... I finally just followed the w/t. Really upset me to have to do that because I know I could have gotten the puzzle eventually, but I needed to be able to get out of the game for awhile. It's frustrating when a puzzle doesn't let you exit out.

So, after a calming period I will go back and tackle the door puzzle on Salia 5 again. That one let me exit out yesterday. Unfortunately, I don't really understand the clue on this one - the lone 3 on the note?? Is there a nudge I can get for this?

Thank you so very, very, much for your help!

That's strange. Usually there is access to main menu in the screens or puzzles. They are either at top bar or bottom right bar; maybe even a back button.

Are you talking about the single 3 on this note?

If so, I got held up there also but Rushes explained it that in a sequence that should have 2 digits; a single digit will carry the previous one's digit to facilitate not repeating that digit.

Maybe Rushes can explain it better. smile

Thanks. I'll ponder on this and see if I can figure it out.

Some of the puzzles let you exit and some don't. This one had a "give up" button but I think that solved it so I didn't want to use that. Even though I used your w/t, I at least still put everything in place myself.

If it's any help, the first yellow light on the top row is the only one that connects to two colours on the bottom row. The note in MaG's screenshot above gives this info. Imagine the colours as being numbered 1 to 4. The rest should then hopefully be logical. luck

Yes, thank you Rushes. When I read it while looking at the puzzle it was very clear to me.

I am currently at the Temple trying to figure out the order of the words. Not ready for a hint yet but had to take a break.

Still bugging me why the blowtorch upgrade gave me such a hard time. I did the underwater upgrade in 20 minutes. I even managed to kill Xir in 6 tries.

Oh well.

I found those upgrade puzzles difficult too. Glad you figured out the Salia 5 door. Good luck with the temple puzzle!

Finished the game! First time I've played a sci-fi. It was pretty good. I liked the special thanks at the end of the credits which included MaG and all Gameboomers. Nice!
