It looks like Big Fish is having a 50% off sale until Oct. 28. Unfortunately it's only a 50% off sale if you're not a member. If you're a member, it's only a 28.6% off sale.

(6.99 - 4.99)/6.99 = 0.286... = 28.6%

(13.99 - 9.99)/13.99 = 0.2859... = 28.6%

You are certainly correct, Jenny. It's not as big a savings for Game Club members and I would like to see Big Fish rethink this in future, as I do feel that Game Club members should be getting 50% off as well. Still, it's nice to be able to save a few dollars nevertheless.

Yes, 28.6% off is better than nothing, and at least they give you a choice of what to buy.

But I don't think they should advertise it as 50% off because for most of their customers it isn't.

Big Fish is getting lots of feedback/commentary about this on the Big Fish forums as well.

Good - It may make them think again when they hold their next sale. They should be looking after their Club Members who have been loyal to them for years and years.

This has always been a bone of contention for me, not just for BFG, but for other businesses as well who offer freebies or reduced rates to new customers while their existing loyal customers are not eligible. In BFG's defense, they did have that wonderful Game Club Credit half-price sale in May (which I took full advantage of), so they do reward their members.

You are right, Susan. And, due to the fact that Big Fish has set such high standards for itself in terms of customer service and appreciation and great sales, I think we tend to have higher expectations for them than we do for many other companies; thus, when we see a sale such as this one, we tend to be more vocal in terms of our feelings about it. It's actually kind of a compliment to Big Fish.
