Good Morning, Everyone!

As I've been preparing to run a kickstarter campaign to raise the money to move forward on the 4th Delaware St. John game, more than a few people have asked "Where's Inherent Evil 2?" This has gotten me thinking and I decided I'd bring the topic up here.

Many years back I began work on Inherent Evil 2 but at the time figured the budget was too much to attempt to raise so I put it on hold.

My question to all of you is, what game would you prefer to see get made? The 4th Delaware game or a second Inherent Evil?

I realise Inherent Evil is 13 years old now so perhaps more people are familiar with Delaware but just the same I'd like to hear your voice!

So, should I run a campaign for Delaware 4, Inherent Evil 2 or run both and find the answer that way?

What do you think?

I personally like the 3rd option of running both and see which is in more demand. If you would get funding for both would you be able to produce both in a required timeline? That is the only downside I can see.

Both! And I would certainly pledge for both of them!

Thanks for asking Bryan

I would like to see both but that is me just being greedy. If I simply had to choose between the two my vote would be for Inherent Evil 2 & 3 (wasn't it suppose to be a trilogy?).

I'd go with Delaware if I had to choose.
I never played the first Inherent Evil because the lack of a save system put me off of buying it. But even if an Inherent Evil 2 had a save system, Delaware is the series I've played.

I'd personally prefer Delaware, but wonder if Inherent Evil might have more name recognition on Kickstarter.

Bryan, somewhere I had gotten the impression that Decay was going to be something akin to Inherent Evil 2, but maybe that was just me reading too much into it from the screenshots and game info that was released at the time. The story sounded pretty similar anyway.

At any rate, Inherent Evil was one of my favorite games as the horror-adventure genre was getting started, and while I've enjoyed the Delaware games as well, I'd love to see a sequel to Inherent Evil.

Thank you for your opinions, I really appreciate them.

Inherent Evil was supposed to be a trilogy (That was actually a big reason we found a publisher for it) though with how things were going with the publisher I made sure the first game felt complete, just "in case" we weren't able to move forwad wink

"decay" is a very dear pet project of mine that was supposed to come out 4 years ago. Unfortunately I tried to do that project with literally no budget. Everyone was working to share sales of the finished game and, well, it reached about 40% completion before the team broke apart in favor of paying projects. This is what I'm trying to avoid with future games by making sure we've a minimum budget to ensure they get completed.

I'll check back for more opinions. Thank you!

-Bryan

I hope that you will still try to make an "Inherent Evil" sequel after you do Delaware.

Its a great game but I think because its fairly old alot of people just arnt familiar with it and thats why "Delaware" took the lead. They are also great games and I back them too, but I would Love to see "Inherent Evil" again. So I hope the thought stays alive. smile

My choice is for Inherent Evil. wave
Really enjoyed playing the first game.

Sometimes lost is where you need to be. Just because you don't know your direction doesn't mean you don't have one.

@Gamer, Yes, I do plan to run a campaign for Inherent Evil. I agree with your comment and that's why I plan to spend the next year trying to gather interest for an Inherent Evil sequel. I've set up a facebook page and will launch a website as well.

Currently the Delaware campaign is under way. It's off to a decent start but we're still far from our goal. How things go here will have an affect on future games. We can only make games people want.
