There has never been but one question in all civilization-how to keep a few men from saying to many men: You work and earn bread and we will eat it.
Abraham Lincoln (1809 - 1865)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Paddy was driving down the street in a sweat because he had an important meeting and couldn't find a parking place. Looking up to heaven he said, 'Lord take pity on me. If you find me a parking place I will go to Mass every Sunday for the rest of me life and give up me Irish Whiskey!'
Miraculously, a parking place appeared.
Paddy looked up again and said, 'Never mind, I found one.'
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Father Murphy walks into a pub in Donegal, and asks the first man he meets, 'Do you want to go to heaven?'

The man said, 'I do, Father.'

The priest said, 'Then stand over there against the wall.'

Then the priest asked the second man, 'Do you want to go to heaven?'

'Certainly, Father,' the man replied..

'Then stand over there against the wall,' said the priest.

Then Father Murphy walked up to O'Toole and asked, 'Do you want to go to heaven?'

O'Toole said, 'No, I don't Father.'

The priest said, 'I don't believe this. You mean to tell me that when you die you don't want to go to heaven?'

O'Toole said, 'Oh, when I die, yes. I thought you were getting a group together to go right now.'

Paddy was in New York .

He was patiently waiting and watching the traffic cop on a busy street crossing. The cop stopped the flow of traffic and shouted, 'Okay, pedestrians...' Then he'd allow the traffic to pass.

He'd done this several times, and Paddy still stood on the sidewalk.

After the cop had shouted, 'Pedestrians!' for the tenth time, Paddy went over to him and said, 'Is it not about time ye let the Catholics across?'
Gallagher opened the morning newspaper and was dumbfounded to read in the obituary column that he had died. He quickly phoned his best friend, Finney.

'Did you see the paper?' asked Gallagher. 'They say I died!!'

'Yes, I saw it!' replied Finney. 'Where are ye callin' from?'

An Irish priest is driving down to New York and gets stopped for speeding in Connecticut .. The state trooper smells alcohol on the priest's breath and then sees an empty wine bottle on the floor of the car.

He says, 'Sir, have you been drinking?'

'Just water,' says the priest.

The trooper says, 'Then why do I smell wine?'

The priest looks at the bottle and says, 'Good Lord! He's done it again!'

Walking into the bar, Mike said to Charlie the bartender, 'Pour me a stiff one - just had another fight with the little woman.'

'Oh yeah?' said Charlie, 'And how did this one end?'

'When it was over,' Mike replied, 'She came to me on her hands and knees.'

'Really,' said Charles, 'Now that's a switch! What did she say?'

She said, 'Come out from under the bed, you little chicken.'

David staggered home very late after another evening with his drinking buddy, Paddy. He took off his shoes to avoid waking his wife, Kathleen.

He tiptoed as quietly as he could toward the stairs leading to their upstairs bedroom, but misjudged the bottom step. As he caught himself by grabbing the banister, his body swung around and he landed heavily on his rump. A whiskey bottle in each back pocket broke and made the landing especially painful.

Managing not to yell, David sprung up, pulled down his pants, and looked in the hall mirror to see that his butt cheeks were cut and bleeding. He managed to quietly find a full box of Band-Aids and began putting a Band-Aid as best he could on each place he saw blood..

He then hid the now almost empty Band-Aid box and shuffled and stumbled his way to bed.

In the morning, David woke up with searing pain in both his head and butt and Kathleen staring at him from across the room.

She said, 'You were drunk again last night weren't you?'

David said, 'Why you say such a mean thing?'

'Well,' Kathleen said, 'it could be the open front door, it could be the broken glass at the bottom of the stairs, it could be the drops of blood trailing through the house, it could be your bloodshot eyes, but mostly ....... it's all those Band-Aids stuck on the hall mirror.

Happy St Patrick's Day!! broccoli

I'm in a mood.

I'd do an Irish jig if I knew what a jig is.

It must be the Spring like weather were having. We'll be in the 70s today.

I'll still be in the 60s. duh

Perhaps that's why I have chronic rigor mortise.

I'm trying to drink more water and take potassium. thumbsup

I think I'll ask for Depends for Christmas.......and new swim trunks.

Have a happy day everyone.

Joe, 70's sound great but I am not going to complain because I know Nan has it worse. lol
I know it's not St. Patrick's day because my daughter would never let me forget it's her birthday. grin

Enjoy your day and hope you have another lucky day of head hunting.

Have a great day everyone. I'll be in the corner, running the dogs and doing a Costco trip.

Good morning y'all.

Prayers going out to Karen.

It is sunny and temps going up to the 50's That means grill out time. Pork chops from Sam's. Yum. Got Cory out for his walk and will take him again this afternoon. Just having a lazy day today. Gaming, reading and if I get ambitious, washing some crystal which badly needs it. Treadmill also.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day today.

Nan, you can keep your snow.

I'll be thinking about Karen and hope she feels better soon.

Cool and foggy here for the last few days, but warm around noonish to the 70's and sunny and awesome.

Still nothing happening at the hoarded house that had the yard cleaned out. Looks so good for once. Can hardly wait for the 'other' side to discover the deed.

Tenant's son from Los Angeles and his new girlfriend left last night. Now to see how 'mom' liked her.

Took a walk after dark up the street to check on the hoarded house's inside lights. We figured maybe they went in but all the lights were as was, so I guess nothing happened inside this time. Hummm wondering wondering.

BUT on my walk, I had to pass the truck of the creepy guy who stares at women and he came out of the condo complex (he might actually live there or know someone there) and walked towards me. UGH! I've had contact with him 3 times when I was out in my yard and he offered to cut the grass. My GRASS was dead dead dead. What a crock. He has the most creepy smile. But as I approached, he walked into the street around a parked car and pretended to be on his cell phone. Stupid non-real conversation in English (weird because he always speaks Spanish to everyone but me). I was happy NOT to have to walk near him. I don't know if he just likes to 'look' or if he is a 'toucher'. No more walking up there after dark. It's bad enough he cruises slowly past my house, staring at the front door where I am usually standing when watching outside. Gives me goosebumps just thinking about him. Looked him up on the registry of sex offenders, but he's not there. Maybe he's just a creepy guy who likes looking at women and isn't dangerous.

Off to clean up outside. The raccoons, who skipped 2 days, were back last night and attempted to steal one of the cat's blankies. Got it all the way to the hole under the deck. I got it back. Funny. Wonder how many other things are under there? They are collectors. Then again, it might have been the two huge possums trying to build a nest. They keep taking the 'fuzz' off the underside of the vinyl tablecloth I put over the picnic table (where I feed the outdoorsie cats). Gotta love the critters and all the stuff they do.

WARNING! This person is extremely blonde...please type SLOWLY.

Super Sunday ya'll puppy

Boy was it nice to sleep in my own bed last night. The drive back was ok...very crowded and a 2 hours slow down outside Atlanta, but hubby safely got us there and back again.

New g'son is adorable. Son still doing the lion's share of the work...all the cooking, all the changing, all the night duty while working 60 hour weeks. It was good to see everyone.

We went to see Wreck-It Ralph while we were there. We enjoyed it thoroughly. Thought we'd take the boys but just found out they went with their mom.

Came home to son and his 2 boys and son's gf and her 2 boys. They've been watching Star Wars all morning. Eventually I'm going to go hide in my room for some peace and quiet.

When we left here it was still hot...we ran the AC the night before we left but the cold has found us. I am not wearing running shorts at the moment.

Daughter has split with her SO again...at least she had when I went to bed last night. I haven't called her today as I'm not in the mood for drama.

Ana, be careful at Costco. Those stores are dangerous lol

Connie, thanks for the crunchy donut holes. How was your holiday?

Quest, you too!

Nan, any snow angels in your future?

Bets, sounds like a great day minus all the work of course. wave

Marian, what's up for you today?

homehomegoodhomegood. Nice to be home again but mostly all my pets accounted for . 2 were happy to see me but 2 acted aloof, unattahed, like "Oh look, she's here". Kinda hurt the feelings. Driving to Dallas from Austin was a breeze -surprise.

Great Thanksgiving with food overload and best of all most my family arrived. After dinner guys watched football and we girls played a great game -Apples to apples- and we sere so noisy we drowned out the game.

Did everyone here enjoy and are your leftovers polished off? Oh yes, one daughter is vegan and she cooked too.

Yankee, so glad you are back. Our cats used to act offended for several days when we left them, but they always got over it.

We had a yummy T'day and all the leftovers were gone on Friday. We played a game called Scribblish and it too was a lot of fun.

Hello everybody. wave

I had a great day today. yay

Yesterday on the hill next to our neighbors place I found THIS on a gopher mound.

I decided to dig a little to see if I could find any more, but I didn't find any.

Today I went back on the hill and back to the same spot where I found THIS sticking up out of the dirt pile that I dug yesterday.

Now I'm really getting excited, so I go back home and get a shovel and rake.

I did more digging and found THIS ONE .

Then I found THIS. This one was grooved so they could tie a rope around it. I just don't know what they used it for.

I gave my friend Shane a call and told hime what I was finding and told hime to get his behind over here.

In the mean time my neighbors grandson came by on his dirt bike pulling a deer carcass. I walked over to the road area the he pulled the deer over and looked down and found THIS . penguin

My friend got there and we did a bunch more digging and found nothing other than several more nice chips or flakes.

Shane started a dig and hit charcoal a few feet down and more chips, which means it is a spot where they had a fire going.

We ran out of time, but will go back and resume digging later.

I have a headache now, and I have to get up at 3:30 tomorrow so I've got little time to get myself ready for bed.

I hope your day was as awesome as mine. yes
