Thanks, Ana. The developer is Silverback, who also brought us the Empress of the Deep games and Theatre of the Absurd. wave

Good to hear. I tried the game in hard mode for 20 minutes or so and the game is indeed challenging that way. I'm switching to casual for the rest of the demo. grin

Is this a HOG or Adventure-lite game?

thracia, from what I can gather at BF forum is that there are hidden object but not in a single screen with a find list and another says there are sparkles to show the HO scenes? Until we hear from others here who have played I am too confused to make sense of their reviews.

However I did find it quite challenging with no directional arrows - I just seemed to click blindly, and wished for once that I had not chosen difficult mode woozy

Hi, Ana!

I held off buying the newest MCF because I was waiting for this one so I could pick it up for half price along with a few others. I downloaded the demo and am about half-way through, but I'm on the fence. There is no random clicking so you really have to hunt for the items you need; however, I think I can overlook that if I enjoy the rest of the demo enough to buy it.

Someone I know just finished the main game and she said it took her 4 to 5 hours, so the game sounds like a good length. wave

Susie, would you consider an IHOG?

Hi, Marian and Ana!

I finished the demo and think I'll take a pass. I do enjoy IHOGs and feel I get my money's worth if the game is a good length, but I really wasn't interested enough to buy this one. I did pick up 2 other CEs for half price, though, because I bought MCF: Shadow Lake, so they should keep me busy for awhile.

Thanks for letting us know, Susan. I'm glad you were able to take advantage of the MCF sale. thumbsup wave

Hi, Marian!

I was actually shocked by the low rating that "MCF: Shadow Lake" received on BFG, because that series seems to have a cult following, but I did enjoy the demo so bought it anyway.

I was pretty shocked by the low reviews too. I do think you will enjoy the game, Susan - I think the MCF series is open to harsher criticism because folks have such high and varied expectations for each game. I thought it was a fun game and I will play it again in a few months. wave

Hi, Marian!

You and I seem to enjoy the same games so, if you enjoyed "MCF: Shadow Lake", I probably will as well. I picked up 2 other CEs in the sale, so I'll have to flip a coin to see which one I'm gonna play first lol !

Not sure about this one. Just doesn't seem as well done as other Silverback games. May wait for the standard version to be released.

I like what I played of the game, but I think it would have benefited from an intermediate level of difficulty; the casual mode seemed too easy and the hard mode seemed too difficult. I will probably pick it up during a CE sale. wave

Hi, Marian!

You touched upon one of the things I really didn't like about the game ()besides not being able to random click). I always play in casual mode because I like to relax while playing and sometimes take advantage of the "Skip" option for puzzles. The casual mode of "Beast" just doesn't take you by the hand. It hits you over the head with a sledgehammer lol ! I may use one of my coupons to pick up the SE when it's released, but I took a pass on the CE.

Agree with Marian and Susan. I usually play in Expert mode if it allows for skipping puzzles. But in this game, the Expert mode is just too hard to navigate.

P.S. Also, did not have a custom cursor in the demo. Anyone else notice this?

I didn't notice the lack of a custom cursor, but some folks on the BF forum mentioned this. wave
