Yes, that's a tricky part where you need to be quick. Have the syringe selected and your cursor ready at the point at about eye-level to the right of Holmes. Then the exact moment when the guard comes into Holmes's view, aim for the side of the neck -- the cursor should turn green to show you're at the correct spot.

i am a little stuck. I am at the fun fair. and I am at the part where sherlock is placing the money at different spots. I found 4 of the spots, but where is the front of the menagerie. I have gone all over the place. but I am not sure where it is.
please help me.

Check the screenshot that I posted on the first page of this thread. That shows where to place the last wad of money. It's just where you exit out into the "danger area" that Holmes warns you about, and a little to the left of that.
