It's been so busy around here I've forgotten to update everyone on the fun.

Wednesday night at 9:30, I heard shouting outside. I thought I heard my male neighbor's voice and some others and was worried that he was confronting the 'Apartment' gang about stealing his aluminum cans again.

Didn't go out but watched on the security monitors and saw several males coming from the Apartments and two of them (the one I call the Drug Dealer and the other, Fat Albert) attacking each other. Actually it was the Drug guy attacking Fat, but Fat was getting in many more hits since he's twice Drug's height and 3 times his heavy.

So they engage, Fat walks off (he had an entourage of 3 other guys with him) and Drug follows. Again wham, bam, sock, thud. Again Drug getting beat to a pulp. Finally he gave up, stood under my phone pole near my driveway and watched the rest of the crew go towards the business district (lots of stores and stuff since it's our 'main' street).

Finally Drug goes back to the Apartments, probably in considerable hurt and I haven't seen him since. He usually walks up and down several times a day 'selling' his wares.

So yesterday (the day after the big fight) I manage to catch our Apartment Drunk gal in a talkative mood and she tells me ALL. Seems that Fat Albert has been bringing home strays to take showers, spend time drinking, smoking weed, etc. and usually staying the night in his 2 bedroom digs at the Apartments. He shares those with Drug guy. So it seems that one of the strays was a woman (sometimes 2) and Drug is accusing HER of stealing mega bucks from him so he can't pay his rent.

Then of course the accusations and the fights. I have the feeling this is just the beginning of escalating trouble there. Crossing fingers we don't have guns or knives involved although my friendly Drunk lady says she always carries a knife and HAS a .22 pistol. This is scary since she is ALWAYS drunk and high on other stuff.

So in our chat, Drunk lady tells me all about her 'boyfriend' who is 22 now (she is 60 and in awesome shape despite the drinking). Actually I got TMI from her about their bedtime activities. She definitely was high on something. Nobody tells that much info. Geez. She even told me that her boyfriend sells weed 'up in the trap'. I now know a new word. 'Trap' refers to a neighborhood in our area that is always having drive by killings and fights and other nasty stuff. Bad area, but HE goes there to sell his weed. Ugh.

AND Drunk lady admitted she drove his car without a license a few weeks ago and hit 3 parked cars. Hit and run and they never caught her! She almost told me WHERE she did this but caught herself. I remember the news report about that one. Ohhhhhh! Now I know where the body damage on his car came fron!

So now I wait and watch and hope I don't hear any fights or find puddles of blood on the sidewalk.

Still having fun in Sorta's Neighborhood. help sherlock woozy12

Thanks Geo, My house is locked up tight, deadbolts on both outside doors, all windows bolted in position, and I have 6 security cameras (7 if you count my back tenant's camera which I can run from my computer) all around the property, which is posted with 'Video surveillance) in front and back.

Of course, that won't prevent damages from stupid people attacking each other. I'm no threat to anyone, I made friends with everyone I met from the apartments. All weird people, but better to be friendly. I just worry about my fence being damaged as fighting bodies are thrown about. Stupid stuff actually since they all live together, but mix booze and drugs and guess what you get? Fights.

It's a fun show. So far, no more fighting since Wednesday and there is a house in between mine and the Apartments anyway, giving me a small buffer zone. Police are always there anyway for domestic fights. Then some people move out and new ones in and it all starts over. Been several drug overdoses with ambulance and police and my friendly Drunk lady started a fire in her 'room' and got burned on one hand/arm badly. She's recovered but I have no idea why the landlord didn't kick her out out out. She put food on a hotplate, drank and passed out and whooosh. Fire all over. Fun huh?

Gonna keep me busy watching for more 'visitors'
over there who seem to be causing the new problems. Why the guy would bring home strays to do drugs and use his shower and sleep over is beyond me. Maybe he makes extra cash that way? Also can't figure out how the Landlord (who lives there) hasn't figured out he has 4-6 extra people staying over and using water, etc. and hasn't had words with the apartment renter. I suppose he will eventually get wise to that transgression.

Staying safe, watching out for number 1, enjoying the drama. scared

Sorta, have you thought about offering some of your video 'evidence' to the local authorities for extra protection from them? Couldn't they increase patrols around there to warn and/or catch some of this activity? You're smart to stay friendly but I don't know that I wouldn't be scared to death to live around there. Sounds like the gang ward streets of some areas in Chicago. scared

Oh butterflybabe, I do so wish our local police were even the least bit interested in preventive policing. They only want to respond when there is a body lying dead or there is someone to have a high speed chase with. So awful to not trust the police. They are lazy and disinterested and treated me like a crazy lady when I called them last time. I won't be calling them unless I am seeing blood or someone is attacking with weapons. Wish our city government would pay them a fair wage and maybe they would feel like doing 'better'.

Today, nothing happened except that I finally saw the FIRECRACKER offenders. Aha! Two late teen boys walked from their house (the one we know the activity comes from) and went over one house (to the older, almost blind and deaf ladies back yard. I called my neighbor, reported who I saw and she remarked it was only a short while till the fireworks start. Well she was right. One hour later, bam bam. Two rockets went off. They hide behind this lady's house in a huge overgrown area and are practically impossible to catch. At least I SAW them this time. Gonna remember them. Maybe I'll send an anonymous letter to their house and the old lady's house threatening 'police' if I hear the fireworks again. Hummmm. Could work, since I will tell them their descriptions and where the went and from which house. Thinking about that ploy.

Still nothing fun happening yet, but the night is young. OH and Drug guy is back at it. Made about 5 trips last night and saw him today. Guess a little 'beat down' doesn't stop the drug business. rotfl12
