to ask a question. just how do you download their downloader I really have no idea how to go about doing that. I have windows 8 thanks dianne

I've moved you over to the techies, who not only know about GOG but also have experience with Windows 8. You will get good instructions and advice here.

Usually when you purchase a game from GOG the first time, you are given the option to download and install their downloader. It's not mandatory, but works pretty well most of the time. If you want to download it before you buy a game, you can get it here...
