Altho without hubby now, I still went to see my close friends for our annual 'eve dinner then munch and relax until the next year comes in' visit. When the first second of 2013 arrived, the first thing I said was - thank god that year's over! on to better thing in 2013!

Happiest New Year to everyone! My resolution this year is the same as always, I resolve to NOT make any resolutions. I always manage to 'keep' that one.

Stayed up late this year watching 'the bucket list' from 2008 which I had never seen. Very good movie. Then all the fireworks started. Amazingly, the usual place had only about 4 or 5 little bottle rockets BUT the Roofer's kids (roofer must have gone to Vegas for New Year, were setting off huge, loud, awful fireworks for over an hour. Kids laughing and screaming, and having a ball. This is just one door over from me. Ugh. Wait until the parents get home. They would never have allowed that activity!

And then there was the gunfire all around. Little guns, shotguns. I'm still looking around for stray bullets. Some people still don't know what goes up....

Cold and clear morning. All outdoorsies accounted for, gonna go on a walk later, got my rent from the tenants so I can finally go shopping. Whew.

My legs are not happy and my lungs retaliated when we ran into the wind but I am happy and glad its behind me. A great start to the new year!

Forgot to tell you in my above post: I will be at the ceramics workshop from tomorrow, Jan 3 to Jan 6 in Tuscany. I don't know how the Internet will be there, the school is in the middle of the Tuscan (Chianti) hills, so maybe no Internet, but a lot of good Chianti wine to keep us students warm...
Will come to the Dinner as soon as possible.

Woo Hoo Ana and Grats!

We all slept in and in and in. I finally was woken by a dog depositing food on my floor. Came down to find the Per asleep in the den. Son always tells me to just turn on the light and the tv, but I just can't disturb a sleeping child. So I went back to bed with my coffee and watched the small part of the parade that was still on.

Now we are all in the den with a small fire and the windows open so we don't roast. We reconfigured the den so that we have room for a big table for food, and moved an extra tv downstairs and moved the Wii to it so the kids can play Wii while we watch tv.
