Congratulations Ana kissy12

Forgot to tell you in my above post: I will be at the ceramics workshop from tomorrow, Jan 3 to Jan 6 in Tuscany. I don't know how the Internet will be there, the school is in the middle of the Tuscan (Chianti) hills, so maybe no Internet, but a lot of good Chianti wine to keep us students warm... snicker
Will come to the Dinner as soon as possible.
Love!
Evelyne

Woo Hoo Ana and Grats! puppy

We all slept in and in and in. I finally was woken by a dog depositing food on my floor. Came down to find the Per asleep in the den. Son always tells me to just turn on the light and the tv, but I just can't disturb a sleeping child. So I went back to bed with my coffee and watched the small part of the parade that was still on.

Now we are all in the den with a small fire and the windows open so we don't roast. We reconfigured the den so that we have room for a big table for food, and moved an extra tv downstairs and moved the Wii to it so the kids can play Wii while we watch tv. wave12

Wow, Ana, that's almost a 7 min. mile -is that right? but to average that you had to go faster at times. Congratulation. I used to jog and race a bit and every AM I went out for the 5 mile jog with Wuuku -Alaskan Malamute and jogging with her was like water skiing on land. She could pull. If I could have raced with her we would have cleaned up. A few times she dragged me when I fell. Something about that dog....

Outdoor tomatos got a good organic fertilizer breakfast -keeping fingers crossed, cold tonight.

Resolution -get outdoors more. I do sit alot in front of PS and that's where I eat too. So much to do -so short a day.

Overcast and cold today. We got past Dec now one more month and then Feb, warmerwarmer. Joyjoy

Lovely Tuesday all

Yankee, I am no where nearly that fast. My bad foot would never allow that. It's more of an 11 minute mile pace. I am a slow and steady runner.

Here are some coyote and hawk pictures from the late afternoon walk with the dogs:

hawk

Coyote 1

Coyote 2

Coyote 3

The dogs were crazy over the coyote. These three were taken from my car at the edge of the woods.

Awww, I want those coyotes. So beautiful!

Up from a nap, watching football with a full den of folks. Dogs are kicked out of the den cos there is just tooooo much they can get into right now. puppy

Ohhhhhh! That's one BIG coyote! Scary scary.

Sister, who is visiting her daughter again this year since Thanksgiving and staying through late March, called me from the car. They are about 2 hours north of me and were driving to a Casino about 1 1/2 hours from me. They wanted me to join them and they would pay for dinner. I considered it for less than a second. Nice gesture, (probably was gonna be a birthday dinner for me) but driving on New Year's day, through traffic, then down a winding, soon to be dark, road (many accidents there) just to spend money I don't have, and get a free din din just wasn't what I wanted to do. I'm a party pooper for sure, but way too far to go, it will probably rain later too, and I think I'm happier being safe and warm at home. I guess sis will have to do something else for my birthday, or if it's the norm, do nothing. I'm beyond that one now I think. Too many years of her not caring. Oh well. I'm happy. woozy

L4L, this was a rare treat for me to photograph and I am sorry it was through my truck window. When I tried to open the window I was bombarded by dogs. I was sitting in my truck talking to Sam on the phone at the edge of the woods when they started coming out. One was about 20 feet from me. Usually as soon as I see one I do not get enjoy them because I have to call the dogs to me and leash them. The coyotes do not run away in the woods and they scare me. They are almost as big as my boys and when they are together they are very bold.

Sorta, sorry you couldn't get together with your sis. I hope you can see her soon.

Hope your day was a good one, considering it's all shiny and new and the year is too.

JOe, it's always nice to see a shiny new year. I always had troubles at work writing the new date. I don't really have to do it much anymore.

Nan, hope you had a great day!

I am looking forward to going to bed. I have a feeling I will not be watching much TV before I fall asleep.

BET's pics reminded me of a sad but true story of the not so nice part of coyotes.
My sister had a dacshound named 'Gordon' who had a brother named (hold on) 'Flash'. When Gordy started having back problems, typical for that breed, my sister called Flash's owner to find out if Flash had had the same problem. Turns out he did not only because a coyote shortened his life. Flash's owner lives in a woodsy area. He had been out of the house and she couldn't see him anywhere. Opened the back door to see him being carried away and nothing she could do about it. So remember - dogs and coyotes just can't play nice together!
oops duh12 thumbsdown
