aser to save a game click on the book on the bottom left corner of the screen. That will take you to the main menu. Select save to access the save menu. Click on one of the 6 available squares and your game will be saved. Once all 6 slots are used you will have to write over one to save another game. Just click on a previous saved game and you will be prompted to overwrite that game with a new save. Hope this helps. Good Luck and enjoy the game!

Thanks, Gerry! There shouldn't be any general problems running it under XP. It should even install and play on most, if not all Win 7 systems. Have fun.

Gerry and Rushes-
Thanks for your response, but, apparently, I didn't make myself clear. Sorry for the confusion.
My problem stems from not being able to save; that is, when I've gone from the main menu to the save menu, then clicked on a slot to save my game, nothing happens. I've even tried saving on different slots, to no avail.
As I said earlier, the game loaded well, but being able to begin from the point I left off is impossible since I've not been able to save. I've played and saved games before, but this is the first time this has happened!
I do appreciate your help, gang. Either the game is bad, or I'm doing something wrong. I've no doubt it's the latter.
Thanks, again, Garry and Rushes!

Aser try playing the game in compatibility mode and then try saving while in compatibility mode.

Aser do this to put game in compatibility mode.
Right-click the game shortcut (or the game exe) --> Properties --> Compatibility tab --> set the dropdown box to Windows compatibility.
Maybe this will help.

Gerry-
You ask what I did to finally allow me to start saving games?
I really don't know, Gerry. Maybe you can figure it out.
The "read me" file suggests any programs running in the background be shut down, so I shut down my anti-virus program. This was a HUGH mistake because it took me several hours to get it back! Even then, nothing worked.
You suggested I play in compatibility mode. Well, I tried the compatibility-settings tab under Tools, but, again, nothing worked. Then you suggested I right-click on the short- cut icon to get to compatibility mode. I did this and set it for "Windows 98/Windows Me." Again, nothing worked. After this, I just gave up and shut down the computer.
Much later, I decided to play again, tried saving again, and it worked!
So, did shutting down my anti-virus program trigger the savings feature, or was it the compatibility mode you suggested? Or -- was it because my computer was shut down for several hours?
I don't know.
Thanks, Gerry.

Your antivirus running in the background can definitely effect the game and could have prevented you from saving a game. Compatibility mode can also help keep an old game running well. Have Fun!
