"Just when you think there's nothing to write about, Nixon says, 'I am not a crook.' Jimmy Carter says, 'I have lusted after women in my heart.' President Reagan says, 'I have just taken a urinalysis test, and I am not on dope.'" Art Buchwald One day the Pope is coming to America in his Limo and he said to the driver, "Why don't you let me drive for ones." The driver thinks to him self, "Well I can't say no to this guy, he's the pope." So the driver pulls over and they change places. The Pope was having fun, hauling butt down the freeway, dogging cars. After a while the driver taps on the window and tells the Pope, "slow down a bit, you might get pulled over." The Pope says, "ahhh, don't worry about it, I'm the Pope." So he rolls up the window and continues to drive very fast. After a few moments he gets pulled over. The cop walks to the car and the Pope rolls down the tinted window. The cop sees the Pope and says, "oh, I, ehhh, sorry, can you hold on a minute." The Pope says, "sure" The cop walks back to his car and radios back to the station. He says, "guys I just pulled over some one really important." They ask who, "The President?." "No more important." "The president of another country." "No more important." "An ambassador." "No even more important." "Well who is it." "I don't know, but the Pope is their chauffeur." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A woman who was rather old-fashioned, delicate, and elegant - especially in her language - was planning a week's vacation in Florida so she wrote to a particular campground and asked for a reservation. She wanted to make sure the campground was fully equipped, but didn't quite know how to ask about the toilet facilities. She just couldn't bring herself to write the word "TOILET" in her letter. After much deliberation, she finally came up with the old-fashioned term "BATHROOM COMMODE." But when she wrote that down, she still thought she was being too forward. So, she started all over again, rewrote the letter and referred to the bathroom commode merely as the B.C. "Does the campground have it's own B.C.?" is what she actually wrote. Well, the campground owner wasn't old-fashioned at all and when he got the letter, he just couldn't figure out what the woman was talking about. That B.C. business really stumped him. After worrying about it for a while, he showed the letter to several campers, but they couldn't imagine what the lady meant either. So the campground owner, finally coming to the conclusion that the lady must be asking about the location of the local Baptist Church, sat down and wrote the following reply: "Dear Madam: Regret very much in the delay in answering you letter. I now take the pleasure in informing you that a B.C. is located nine miles north of the campground and is capable of seating 250 people atone time. I admit it is quite a distance away if you are in the habit of going regularly, but no doubt you will be pleased to know that a great number of people usually take their lunches along and make a day of it. They usually arrive early and stay late." "The last time my wife and I went was six years ago and it was so crowded that we had to stand up the whole time we were there. It may interest you to know that right now, there is a supper being planned to raise money to buy more seats. They're going to hold it in the basement of the B.C." "I would like to say it pains me very much not to be able to go more regularly but it is sure no lack of desire on my part. As we grow older, it seems to be more of an effort, particularly in cold weather." "If you do decide to come down to our campground, perhaps I could go with you the first time you go, sit with you, and introduce you to all the other folks." "Remember, this is a friendly community." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A state trooper pulled a car over and told the man driving that he was going 50 mph in a 40 mph zone. "I was only going 40!" the driver protested. "Not according to my radar," the trooper said. "Yes, I was!" the man shouted back. "No you weren't!" the trooper said. With that, the man's wife leaned toward the window and said, "Officer, I should warn you not to argue with my husband when he's been drinking." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A group of friends who went deer hunting separated into pairs for the day. That night, one hunter returned alone, staggering under a hugh buck. "Where's Harry?", asked another hunter. "He fainted a couple miles up the trail," Harry's partner answered. "You left him lying there alone and carried the deer back?" "It was a tough decision," said the hunter. "But I figured no one is going to steal Harry." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A man sat quietly reading his morning paper one Sunday morning. Suddenly, he is knocked almost senseless by his wife, who stands behind him holding a frying pan in hand. Man: "What was that for?" Wife: "Why do you have a piece of paper in your pocket with "Daisy" written on it?" Man: "Oh honey, don't you remember two weeks ago when I went to the horse races? Daisy was the name of the horse I bet on." The wife was satisfied, and appologized for bonking him. Three days later he is again sitting reading the paper when once again he is bonked on the head. Man: "What's that for this time?" Wife: "Your horse called." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Good morning everyboomie. Welcome to the week........beginning. I hope you enjoy all of the jokes thoroughly. I've tested them out personally doing my stand-up routine in front of the cows. They gave me the hooves up, and said I was outstanding in my field. "Udderly sensational" I heard them saying. It was very mooving. I love bovine humor. Have a happy day ya'all. joe

Nan, please stop blowing your cold air here. It's 4 degrees with a -11 windchill and I am stuck in the house with 4 very large hyper dogs. They rousted me out of bed this morning by fighting over who lays where eventually pulling all the covers off me. I know my temps are a heat wave for you! Midgie, it's another cooking/cleaning day and then Salsa Funk tonight so I will get my exercise. I hope the weather cooperates with your plans! Darlene, I hope you enjoyed your weekend. Gail, enjoy your day off with the girls. How are you feeling? Connie, I have chicken breasts defrosting, I'll bring it over to christen the new grill. Venus, have a fun lunch. Gerry, is your area behind in snowfall amounts too? Sue, hope you don't lose the dogs in the snow. Haroula, have a great day! Joe, you quack me up! Are you all done with the old apt now and settled in? Okay, lots to do, little time to do it....

Magnificent Monday ya'll Well, I ended up sleeping all day yesterday. As we were sitting and sipping and getting ready to stain, son said, "Hey, you and dad are tired. I'll stain the beds this week. You guys rest." I took him at his word and took my coffee and went to bed. I thought I'd just take a nap but ended up sleeping almost all day. However, when I did wake up again very very late I was no longer achy It's another beautiful day out there. I think hubby and I might get the 4 legged monkeys out for a stroll once we hit the afternoon highs. The boys will be going home late this evening.

L4L, I guess you needed the rest! Glad to hear son is doing the staining especially since it's for his boys. Seems only fair! Evelyne, the flu rate is high here too this year. I hope you can stay healthy. Eat whole foods and get sleep. As always, I am sending prayers and positive thoughts. Ana

Evelyne, sorry you are now sick. Hugs to you! Ana, seems fair to us to. Son is so not "handy" but it's never too late to learn and staining is easy, especially as we went with a natural stain so there is no color matching to do. I'll have to help move the wood around as his shoulder/arm are still pretty nonfunctional but that is fine. Now we just have to hope the nice weather holds.

L4L and all others having lotsa pain this winter, research heated matress pads -Tana, my haircutter, says they are wonderful and another customer affirmed it. Amazon has them in the bedding section so I ordered one and should be getting it the end of this week. The cats will like it too.
Well, first thing this AM Buttercup went off to the dreaded vet and got a tapeworm med. And surprise!!! you don't have to put your fingers down their throat and come back nubs anymore because it's a liquid skin app. Since Moira needs an app too I can do that myself. The trip over was loud meows, scratches fiery protests and finally, so funny, pleading. It's the same every time.
They are now stretched out nin the hot sun -it's warmer outside than in the house. Happy day. Stay warm all
Happy gaming

Yankee, sounds wonderful except I know I'd be too hot! I do however, fall asleep every night with a heating pad on some part of my body and love my heated seats in the truck. Thanks for the suggestion. It always amazes me that it is so easy to give meds to my 100 lb dogs but so hard to give it to a 10 lb cat.

Good morning everybody. I just got back from town. I turned the house key back over to my landlords, and then went to Walmart. Baaby weent with me. She loves going for rides. She's out protecting us from the cows now. Now I have to finish unpacking and organize everything. Gotta take Mom's car to the shop first. It looks like it's leaking transmission oil. Have a good one everybody. joe

L4L, we all learned by making mistakes, so it's great that son starts to get handy. I learned early because we had no boys in our family. Joe, I hope mom's car is not an expensive fix. My battery and brake lights came on yesterday but then they went off after ten minutes. I'm hoping it was just because it was really cold.

Hi there y'all.
I have been busy checking out cell phones and plans.
Guess who has joined the ranks of cell phone users. I got a Fusion 2 from AT&T. I didn't get internet plan as I plan on using it mostly for texting and a few phone calls when I need it. Now I have to learn how to use it.
Gotta do treadmill now so will be back later.

Oh yes, Space, Ana is right. These secondary infections are very dangerous. Please see your doc.I hope you feel better once and for all soon! Ana, that food looks sooo good!!! I see onions, lemons and red and yellow peppers....?? don't know anything about Peruvian seasoning but I can improvise. Mine won't be as good as yours, probably but I will give it a shot. Thanks for all the pix. I don't have any lemons but do have some lemon juice cubes in the freezer. I'll let you know....

I'm at dance class so I know a few of the ingredients. It's white wine vinegar, Hungarian sweet paprika, cumin, pepper, sea salt, garlic and olive oil. I think there is I've other thing. Otherwise you had the correct veggies.

Wow!! I used smoked paprika, white wine, cumin, kosher salt, pepper, garlic powder, lemon juice, olive oil and tumeric. I thought that was where yours got it's color. I didn't have a lemon but did have red, yellow and green pepper and onion. It tasted pretty good but next time I would serve it on some basmati rice. Thank you for your expert help in planning dinner this evening, Ana. Have fun dancing.

You did good Lotus! I don't put turmeric in it though, it has a bit too strong of a flavor for me. I do use it after a hard workout in a blender for a protein shake. I have quinoa and brown rice made up and some plain black rice to use. I just make up batches every week and they can be used as needed. Sweet dreams L4L. Dance was great as always, but I seriously angered my toe, which I am sure I broke earlier.I knew it wasn't the best idea to go, but I really needed it mentally. I am back in the corner for a week as of this afternoon so I went grocery shopping on my way home from class and I'll be going back in hibernation. My brake light and battery light are on again too. It's 1 degree out and we are supposed to fall to -7. Stop blowing this way Nan!

Ana! I tried but then this little voice said to me that sharing was caring. We made it all the way to a wonderful -8 today and already are back to -12, heading to a most comfortable......-20!! On Saturday we had a snowmobiler go missing and on Sunday they started a search. Well this morning they found him.......alive!!! He had run out of gas in the woods somewhere. He had a fire on Saturday night but none last night. They took him straight to the hospital and I do believe he is doing good. Soooo glad they found him. Well time here to head for bed and snuggle with Sassy to stay warm. Lotus good to see you! Stay warm!! Space prayers headed up for you so you are feeling better soonest!! Night everybody sleep well and pleasant dreams!! Nan

joe ,love those cow jokes ,too evelyne ,so sorry to hear what you are going through ,hugs and prayers things get better soon, midgie, hope they give you some relief on that ankle. nan ,stay warm, and be careful in that cold. i ,too , await spring wih bated breath. ana, lotus ,i will keep that chicken idea in my head for next grocery trip.looked and sounded pretty good. melodee has me a bit concerned - lots of sneezing and sniffling, and not her usual appetite today... space ,for sure you want to check out anything that goes more than 7 or so days.you are susceptible after a flu bout , because your immune system hasn't had time to recover. hope you feel better soon. well,i didn't get as much done as i hoped , but i made progress ,so it wasn't a wasted day. way too much to get done in a short amount of time , just have to keep poking at it i guess. time to find my pillow ,have a wonderful night , and sweet dreams !
