Hello Gameboomers!

We're down to the final 4 days of our kickstarter campaign for our 3rd person adventure game based on characters from Wonderland and Oz.

It's recently come to my attention a lot of adventure gamers are being put off by the inclusion of optional "combat" gameplay.

We tried to create a game that would offer people choices but never intended anyone to mistake the game for anything but an adventure game with optional additional gameplay.

If I had announced the campaign as strictly a 3rd person point and click adventure, would that have made a difference for you?

Good question Bryan!

Just to give you a boost, people can access the Kickstarter here.

I know that sometimes there is doubt that a game can be two different things at once, but I believe it can be done. Pure adventure gamers don't generally want to hear of action and some may not read past that part to understand it can be turned off.

I am interested to see what people think.

The idea of optional gameplay that involves "combat" does not bother me at all. My gaming background is that of adventure games as well as other genres (RPGs, primarily). wave

For our final days I've restructured the campaign to eliminate the optional turn-based combat gameplay. This means this is 100% a point and click 3rd person adventure game. If that is indeed the reason we've not gotten much support, perhaps we'll see an increase and I can re-run it.

If we don't get more support, well it's clear the game just isn't wanted. Either way, we'll see smile

Thanks!

-Bryan

That goes for me, too !! yes

The "Quest for Glory" series was a mixture of adventure and RPG type elements and was a huge success praise

I'm very, very much hoping you get to make your game thumbsup

Hi Everyone!

The Independent Game Developers Association has given The Red Queen of Oz: Two Fates their backing! What does this mean? It means they have their faith that we can and will deliver a quality project if funded. For those who had concerns over putting their money up front and risking a project not being completed, this should boost your faith smile

However, we're down to the final 36 hours so it's probably too little too late but figured I'd share this anyhow smile

@Marian and Mad, Several people who pledged mentioned when they told others about the game they declined because they didn't like the combat aspect. I personally think the game will be amazing with such a mixture. But I changed the campaign to see if that was really the problem. So far, I think you are right, it wasn't.
