nan , i can sympathize with you and sassy - been just plain cold here ,too. i don't even check the weather reports when it's like this - i don't want to know the numbers

well , i overslept ,so now need to make up the lost hour - back after house chores.....

Hi Nan, the San Diego bay itself is huge. Our Naval Fleet is based here with several aircraft carriers, loads of other ships etc., but we are south about 9 miles at the far end of the bay. We have a nice Marina area with small boats, and a small grouping of shops and a nice park near the marina. Now with the Power Plant demolition (which is right next to the Marina and Park, it will clear the way for even more 'Tourism' type stuff. I'm just hoping they don't build some huge, hi-rise hotels or condos which would block the sea breeze and the view. Chula Vista is a nice little town but we are growing. Used to be just the salt works (seawater evaporating and shipping out for commercial use) and an aircraft plant which closed in the 70's.

They were thinking about building a new stadium for the San Diego Chargers where the power plant is, but that's not gonna fly now. Lovely area, undeveloped, marsh land with loads of protected species. Nice little stuff.

On google maps or earth, just look at the far South West area of San Diego to the City of Chula Vista and you will probably be able to zoom in on the "J Street Marina Park". Probably will have the power plant still on it until the demo tomorrow. Loads of fun.

Humm, just looked and they renamed the area Bayfront Park. Power plant is South and it's a very old picture since there is still smoke from the stacks visible. Gonna miss that old place.

Son has taken off to pick up the Per and then head to the park. I'm heading upstairs to fold laundry! How exciting, but at least I will be warm.

Aww Nan, Fort Roscrans, I go there on occasion. Beautiful place and my niece (8 days old passed) is buried there. The road also goes to the old Cabrillo lighthouse and the tide pools and overlooks the entire San Diego bay. You can see my neighborhood from there if you use binoculars. Used to drive up that road a lot when I was young and single and dating the entire Navy.

Hi Boomies. I had a good day. Worked this morning and rushed home to throw a load of laundry in, then off to my PT,then home to finish laundry. I've been relaxing the rest of the day. I hope you all had a good day. I'm watching Batman Begins. I thought it was a good movie.

Thinking about work tomorrow morning. Shift is 8 to 11. Then tomorrow evening shift is 5 to 9 because my clients are having a dinner party. I get to work with my favorite other care giver- Margaret. I can't wait. She's a hoot.

Oh Sorta that is cool that you been there. One day, I'm hoping, I'll make it there to see his spot in person. My cousin lives there too and she was back here last Nov for her mom, my aunt, funeral. We were talking about it then. She went home and last month I received a letter from her with pictures of the area and the place my brothers ashes are. He over looks the ocean on one side and the San Diego Bay on the other. Beautiful pictures.

Taxi home and parked. Not too busy tonight but steady. Course it only made it to 1 above and that is the temp right now.
