In my world there is no such thing as too much garlic. grin

I know that a raw potato will soak up excess salt so maybe it'll work for garlic powder? duh I would try it first and make sure it actually tastes bad because I double, triple and often quadruple the amount of garlic in a recipe anf no one in my family complains.

Ana, you are a woman after my own heart! I grow my own garlic and had a tad over 20 pounds of the stuff this year!

family, when they don't give an amount, they usually mean "to taste." That's why it's important to start out with a little and then add more after you taste it if needed. I agree with Ana - taste it first - it may be just fine.

Plus remember, The Health benefits of Garlic...

Here is some....

Garlic can be used to treat high cholesterol, parasites, respiratory problems, poor digestion, and low energy. Studies suggest that regularly eating garlic helps lower blood pressure, controls blood sugar and blood cholesterol, and boosts the immune system. It has also been found to reduce the risk of esophageal, stomach, and colon cancer.

Anything Garlic is great for me.....Although they say not to eat Garlic raw.... But I don't listen grin

It definitely tastes nothing like the stuff you get in the store. All the "fresh" garlic in the stores comes from China and I decided I really didn't want to eat anything grown there. I peel the cloves and put them in a food processor with a little dry white wine. Then I dehydrate it and either leave it as dried minced garlic or grind it into the best garlic powder you've ever tasted!

I was so glad when they said it was good for you too!

Ana, there is nothing easier to grow than garlic. And you don't need much space. You plant it in October and harvest in late June or thereabouts. Here is where I get my planting stock from.

DRac, my problem is I have no where to plant that the dogs can't get to. I may be able to plant it between my flowers out front though as long as I hide it between the flowering plants so I don't get fined. Thanks for the link, I actually saw it on your FB page this morning and was checking it out. Which one do you buy?

Nobody has yet mentioned the most useful application of garlic! It keeps vampires away. I'm never without it. Haven't seen a vampire in eons.
