I've played quite a bit of The Cat Lady now.
I agree with
***Karla's review at JA***. Maybe not the A+ grade, but an A or A- with restricted recommendation due to the violent images.
The Cat Lady is not a typical horror game or a typical adventure.
It's violent in places, with themes of death, madness, dismemberment, and mutilation. Some of it takes place in the character's mind, some in her normal life, and some in a mysterious world in between life and death.
There is a lot of dialogue, and not that many puzzles other than figuring out where to go or what to do next.
But if you have an interest in psychological horror, it's a great game to play. It is a mature themed game for several reasons.
The disc version is DRM-free and you don't need the disc in the drive to play.
