Eleusis is a 3d first-person adventure game for Windows developed by Nocturnal Works using the technology of the unreal engine. It takes place in a seemingly abandoned village in Greece where the player character, while trying to seek refuge, finds himself in the center of a whirlwind of mysterious events. As the plot unfolds he finds clues that indicate that the village is a nest of a cult which plans to revive a dark force through an ancient ritual and harness its power. The player character faces the challenge of unlocking the forgotten knowledge of the ancient mysteries in order to stop the cult from accomplishing their goal.

It is an exploration based adventure game where the player is called to solve the mystery by finding clues and reading texts based on actual history, mythology and technology of ancient Greece.

You're right, Gil. I couldn't spot any mention of that on the site. A review at dadsgamingaddiction site says:

The controls are not rebindable, but are fairly simple for the game’s purposes. The WASD keys move the player around, left shift runs, left control crouches, the “F” and “L” keys activate your flashlight and lantern, respectively, “I” opens your inventory, “J” opens your journal, and “Space Bar” jumps.

Additionally: "At present, the game automatically saves your progress [only] when you complete an important objective or unlock the next area."

So manual saving doesn't seem to be possible.

Oh, dear !! I can cope with keyboard controls but I do dislike the idea of no manual saving eek

Thanks for pointing that out, Rushes smile

I am moving part of this to Hints since it's more related to how to play the game than the actual game itself.

Mad, the auto saves are not that far apart, at least in Chapter one.

And generally speaking, the controls are easy: move forward with the W key and use the mouse to pan or turn left and right.

The hand icon is also easy to use when checking or taking objects as long as you are at the right place to click on it.

Hi, Ana. This game reminds me of "Dear Esther". I'm playing the demo, and IF I can access a TEXT WT, i won't hesitate to purchase it. That'a hint, Mag. LOL

Sandy, let me see what I can do about that WT.

But it will take me a few days to write it.

I'm wondering why some games use the keyboard for movement. Don't they know most adventure gamers prefer using the mouse? To me, it's more hassle to use the keyboard. IMHO

Totally agree with this. I wonder if it is simply easier (i.e., cheaper) to write code for keyboard control than point-and-click.

Oh wonderful, I have been looking for adventures using the unreal engine. I hope it gets closer to the quality of those expensive to make best sellers that I will never play, like those RPGs or FPSs. I really look forward to this one.

The Demo looks a bit like Amnesia and I saw the full version I $17.99. I will haave to consider the buy option a bit later as I have some games I would like to play in the meantime.
