I had this working on my Windows XP at one time but I can not find the patch. It should work on XP, right?

All I can find right now is an "updater" on the developer's current website at
http://www.caprisaga.com/downloads.html

The patch was to make it work on Vista, but keep in mind the game was made in 2003, which was pre-XP-SP2. XP SP2 and SP3 are a lot more restrictive than the original XP or SP1. So the patch "may" help if you're having troubles with XP SP2 or XP SP3.

It says A quiet Weekend in Capri, CD-ROM 1
also have CD-ROM 2.
I tried the installer, ran it, applied it to the loaction of the program, but it comes up with a picture but no buttons.

I am not so sure that the Updater at the developers web site will help the original game as it looks like it is for The Mysteries of Capri updated DVD release but I have been wrong before (a lot in fact) but why not give it a try? The worst that could happen is that it won't work right? If all else fails you can send them an email.

Could this be a widescreen problem?
Have you tried setting your desktop to 1024x768 resolution before starting the game?

There used to be a patch at the developers' old website at
http://www.weekendcapri.com/uk/main.htm

However this site no longer works and the web archive is down so I can't check if the patch exists there.

Greyfuss, the instructions said
Quote:
Update Program for I Misteri di Capri
includes updated English text in few photos of A Quiet Weekend in Capri
Execute InstallUpdate.msi to install Game Updater
Once installed, run Game Updater
Select to update A Quiet Weekend in Capri

So I thought it might work, since I couldn't get to the web archive to check there.

I think we may have to wait until the web archive is back online -- unless someone at Gameboomers has the patch archived.

Or you could try emailing the developers at their Contacts page at
http://www.caprisaga.com/contacts.html
and ask if they could send you the original patch.

The reason I mentioned that is I Misteri di Capri (Mysteries of Capri) is the latest rerelease with updated versions of both games on DVD and when running the Patch it looked to be for the Quiet Weekend version of that release. I just guessed that it wasn;t for the original game as it didn't mention it. That all being said, if there was a different patch I am sure Silvio would help.

You're probably right about the patch being for the newer release, GreyFuss. But it's all I could find. It's probably best just to contact the developers for the old patch.

Got an email from developer - had to change the DPI from 120 to 96 and it worked! Thanks so much Jenny for encouraging me to contact them.
