Windows 7 is wanting to upgrade to IE 10 and I have been hesitant. I remember when they went from ie 8 to ie 9 and I had problems until they worked out some kinks.

Has anyone moved to ie 10 and do you recommend it?

would appreciate any input.

I'm running IE 10 under Windows 7. It's not that big of a change from IE 9. It does include a spell check feature that's built in, and lord knows I need it smile

I'm using it in Windows 8 in desktop mode and I really don't find a lot of difference either. I also like the spell checker!

I had Win 7 upgrades the other day and IE 10 was given as an option, not required as the other upgrades were. What IE 10 is like has been my question also, since my wife used IE 9 more often than I do and I didn't want something she'd have trouble with.

This thread has helped. Thanks for asking the question oldman.

Thank you all. That reassures me. I guess I'll click on allow to let windows update.

I downloaded IE 10 about a week ago on my laptop with Windows 7 and I can't tell any difference from IE9. I had Googled it and all the reviews seemed to be favorable - so go for it!

I went ahead and installed IE 10. Overall, it really doesn't look that much different than IE 9, but there is a slightly cleaner look to the graphics. So far it's been fine, but only time will really reveal the truth.

Just to add more re-assurance to using IE10, I been using it for 3 months and I never had any glitches, crashes or problems Linking to any of the Sites I visited whether it be my Favorites or New sites that I come across during my Web travel.

I've also noticed it seems a bit faster loading than IE 9.

I noticed something yesterday while preparing the News of Galore.

With IE9, after checking a link to a game, let's say Dead Cyborg, and coming back to the Galore page, that link was outline by a rectangle around it.

It's interesting to have that capability when checking a few links to see what link you just checked.

IE10 does not give that capability.

Can that capability be reinstall?

Thanks.

Have you checked in tools to see if this function can be enabled?

I've never seen IE 9 behave this way - but, maybe the following link might help.

Changing IE9 visited link color

Inland, it's with IE10 that I do not get that dotted rectangle or border around a link.

Yes, I'm running 10 as well - but never recalled IE 9 behaving that way.

I also don't remember IE 9 having that feature. Only thing I remember, and it still occurs, is the color change from blue to purple when a link from a Google search was visited. Dashed lines around a visited link I've never seen.

Same here as Inland and Homer... a color change, but no "box" around a link and I'm still running IE9 on my Windows 7.

Drac, please go to Galore and click on any game.

Come back to Galore from the site of that game and tell me if, on your computer as it did on mine, you see a "box" around the game you just click on.

If you do not see that "box", then I Wonder why I had one.

And by the way, why are you all talking about colors?

OK. Let me boot up into my Windows 7 and I'll get back to you.

Chief, what's the actual website - I see a number of listings for "galore" in my search.

EDIT: Oops... I see you mean the Games Galore page here at Gameboomers.

Drack, it's our Free Games Galore. Click the link on top of this page.

When in there, click on any game you want.

Yes, it finally clicked in my brain. And, guess what, you are correct. There is a "box" around the name of the game when I come back. This must be something specific to how the link is set up here at Gameboomers. What we were talking about with the colors are links on the internet in general. For instance if I do a Google search for Galore, all the listings are blue. Once I click on a link, it turns sort of reddish purple color to indicate I've already clicked on that link.

I don't know why the links in the Free Games Galore page behave differently. I get the box in both IE 9 and in Firefox. I'm going to boot back up into Windows 8 now.
