Anyone know if this works?
It's from 2002 but I get a error message about it being 32 bit.
Thanks, Caz

Have you tried installing in compatibility mode? I know I got lots of games older than 2002 to play using it.

Caz definitely try compatibility mode. I don't have W7 but I always had to play that game that way. Good Luck!

Try the different compatibility modes for different versions of Windows. Sometimes it's the one you don't expect (like Win 2000 or NT) that works the best.

Oh yes.
Tried all that.
Says it's not 64 bit compatable but it plays on XP?

XP is usually a 32-bit system.

Unfortunately my Loch Ness game is missing, so I can't test it -- even on XP. I played it on Windows 98.

If you tried playing in compatibility mode as opposed to installing in comaptibility mode by changing compatibility on the installer, be sure to try installing in compatibility mode. Also install by right-clicking the setup/install file and choosing "Run as Administrator." Install into some location other than C:\Program Files -- installing into your user's Documents folder might be best.

If the game actually contains 16-bit code, it's not going to work on a 64-bit operating system outside of something like VirtualPC or VMware.

According to the specs on the photo of the European version at ***Mobygames***, it does not require video memory or a 3D graphics card so it should work fine inside VirtualPC with Windows 95, 98, ME, or the early version of XP (possibly also XP SP2 and XP SP3) installed. But since I can't find my game, I can't test it.

Interestingly, Big Fish has the game here and is listed as supporting XP, Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8. I remember when it was released on Big Fish, though, that people were having problems with it. I don't know the status of things now. wave

I actually just fired up the Win 2000 computer I pulled from the trash and it's working fine. Actually got past that whole "NESSIE"\SITUATION.
I'm serious; look in everyone's trash on trash day. Old computers abound. Been able to play almost every old game I've wanted too. They might need a little optimizing but it's worth it. I added loads of memory for $7.

Well at least you found a solution.
I don't see people rooting through their neighbors' trash for old computers though.

Dumpster diving is not something I care to do either! Although I did score some awesome industrial carpeting when I did the good old dumpster dive with one of my engineers at our old office! When companies would rent office space, they would rip out everything no matter if it was in pristine condition.

Oh now people I don't go rooting through dumpsters!
I live in NYC and there are many computers sitting on the curb waiting to be disposed of. If it were covered with Beef-a-roni or something I wouldn't go near it....

I don't know, cazzie... you might miss out on some cool stuff in dumpsters covered with Beef-a-Roni!

Several years ago, when the company next door to where I worked moved out, they threw out all their old office furniture into a dumpster. I got a really nice desk and a chair out of it - in fact I use them for one of my computers.

And you can go "closet diving" in one of my closets where I have an old eMachine with Win98(still working) tucked away behind a couple of CTR monitors (also still working.)
